Lukas sat in his basement with his two best friends, Arthur and Vladimir. They each had their spell books open and sat in a circle. The three boys were huge fans of magic and actually weren't too bad at it. All three of them were born with the power to use magic, either with a wand and a spell or any other object correctly used. They used their "powers" to do simple tricks like making objects float or disappear.
But careful here, they aren't magicians, they don't do magic tricks with a scheme behind the illusions, they use real magic, with spells and undefined phenomenons. They know black and white magic but try to only use white, except Vladimir, he loves black magic and uses it all the time.
"Ready?" Lukas asked looking at his friends. They nodded and all held out their hands in front of them. They recited the words written in their books and closed their eyes, concentrating. A circle of light drew itself around them. They continued without flinching or breaking their concentration.
A bright light shone engulfing the whole room. Suddenly it disappeared. They slowly opened their eyes and looked around them. They stared at each other in confusion. "Where is it?" Arthur asked, eying the two other boys questionably.
"I don't know," Lukas replied flipping the pages in his book. "You all read the spell about forest trolls, right?"
"Yes."
"Uh, yeah... Yeah."
Lukas and Arthur stared at Vladimir suspiciously then sighed closing their books. Arthur's cellphone started ringing, startling the three boys. "Sorry, my friend's calling," Arthur said standing up and answering. "Yes, what's wrong Al?" The Brit returned a few minutes later and picked his bag up. "Sorry, something's come up, I have to go," Arthur apologized and ran up the stairs.
Lukas nodded and turned to Vladimir. "Yeah, I'll be going too, see you next week 'kay?" he said standing up. Lukas pushed himself up as well and waved his friend goodbye. Seconds later, he was left alone in the basement. He sighed and put his book away. As he placed the book on the shelf an explosion occurred behind him.
Lukas turned around to face a blinding light and covered his eyes with his arm. Most of his notes and papers flew past him and stuck on the walls. Slowly the light started to dim down. He removed his arms and stared in awe.
Floating over the circle they were sitting in before was a man, more like a transparent man. Little by little he started to color and become opac. He had bright blue eyes and spiky blond hair. He looked around then smiled seeing Lukas.
"Hey! Sorry I'm late, did I miss anything?" he smiled waving his hand. Lukas stared in disbelief his mouth slightly agape. The man tilted his head, "What? Have you never seen someone as handsome as me?"
This snapped Lukas back to earth. He shook his head and looked away. "T-That's not it..." he stuttered. He faced the man and asked, "What are you?"
The being raised an eyebrow and smirked, "What, you summon me but don't know what I am? You ought to be careful, one day you'll summon a dragon without knowing..."
"Already did."
The man turned around and saw Lukas' non amused face. "Okay, well I'm a ghost. A dead person. Well, more like the soul of a dead person..."
"Yeah I know what a ghost is," Lukas cut off the spirit.
The ghost held up his hands and looked to the side. "Fine, mister know-it-all, I'll stop speaking then," he said turning around facing the other way.
Lukas sighed and bent down to clean up. "Yeah, you can leave or whatever, we accidentally summoned you anyway," he voiced setting the papers on a table.
"Mean. Nuh-uh, I am not going to leave just like that, I'm gonna haunt you, play tricks on you and make your life miserable," he said with a playful smirk. Lukas looked at him slightly worried as he approached him. He placed his hand under his chin and lifted it up. "One more thing, the name's Matthias, you might want to remember it, it'll be the only thing rolling off your tongue these days," Matthias whispered leaning in. Just before placing his lips on Lukas', he disappeared with a gust of wind.
Lukas stood in the basement all alone once again with now a small blush and heart beating very fast.
'Did a ghost just hit on me?!'
