Arthur slowly made his way around the rooftop. He bent down and looked through the glass window covering the museum's main hallway. He pulled down at his black gloves and adjusted his mask. He pulled out one of his gadgets from his belt and flicked the button. A red light shone out of the pen-like object and he pointed it to the window. He stuck a small suction cup to the glass and carved a hole big enough for him to pass through.
The thief put away his gadgets and fastened a grappling hook to the roof. He gracefully slid down the rope and landed on the ground without a sound. Arthur started wandering in the museum on the look out for any guards. He headed towards the room where was kept what he had come for.
On his way he stumbled upon a couple guards but knocked them out with swift moves. He continued cautiously and approached the glass cage of the museum's treasure. He watched in awe as the jewel sparkled set on it's small cushion.
Arthur backed away and searched for the security system. In less than five minutes, he had turned off the alarms of the room and any electric circuits, he's had a lot of experience with robbing museums. He walked back to the green jewel and observed its protection once more. Its glass confinement was too large and probably just as heavy, he would have to cut through it like before.
He maneuvered as he did previously and successfully carved a hole the size of his hand. Arthur pulled out a replica of the jewel from his pocket-equipped belt. He held it out above the original and waited shortly. He rapidly switched the stones making sure it looked as if nothing had been touched upon. He stared proudly at his prize. The green jewel sparkled in his hand as he turned it to the little moon light.
The British thief stuffed the gem in a special pocket and zipped it carefully. He placed the cut out glass back in the hole and used one of his gadgets and smeared a cream-like substance which instantly made the cut out hole disappear. Arthur slowly backed away from the museum's exhibition.
"Well, well, well. That was pretty impressive," a voice stated, startling the Brit. He positioned himself in a fighting stance holding his hands in front of himself. A silhouette emerged from the dark. Arthur swung his arm at the figure sending a long and sharp needle in his direction in less than a second. The person barely had the time to move to the right and dodge the weapon.
"Woah! Is that the way you villains greet someone?" he laughed advancing towards Arthur. At this point he could clearly see who it was.
"The Great American Hero," Arthur spat out, his face wrinkling in disgust. That only made the man grin wider.
'The Great American Hero' also known as Alfred Jones—however no one other than Arthur knew that—was a popular superhero working with the American government. His name as obnoxious as his personality, he was known for his inhuman strength and enthusiasm making him a good leader, despite the fact that the man was as witty as a rock. The man wore dark blue tights with a matching long sleeved shirt exposing nicely his musculature. He had red boots and a red star on the left side of his chest. His hair was a nice blond and his eyes a deep blue.
"What are you doing here?" Arthur snapped, readying himself to throw another weapon.
"Huh, well, you know. Bad guy. Jewel. Tries to steal it. Good guy. Saves day. Hero. Classic story," he answered swaying his hand and rolling his eyes. Arthur sighed, instantly hating the way the American talked. "So anyways-"
"Anyway," the Brit cut off. The Great American Hero raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Anyways is grammatically false. Use correct English if you're going to speak to me."
Alfred dramatically threw his hands in the air. "Who cares? It doesn't matter," he whined looking at the thief.
His bored look was returned with a cold glare.
