Dear Journal,
Today I have found the strangest creature yet. I was out fishing when suddenly I saw a man floating in the water. I hurriedly pulled him out and onto my boat. But once pulled out of the water, I realized it was not a man. Instead of legs, it had a long scaly tail. I examined the creature and noticed it was injured. Not wanting to leave it to it's most certainly death inscribed fate, I decided to bring it with me.
*
Right now, I am in my bathroom sitting on a stool next to the bathtub. In it is the merman. I researched more about the creature once at home and learned it was a merman, a mythical being which lives in water. It is still unconscious but I tended to it's wounds, hopefully it won't die, it would be a shame otherwise.
*
The merman just awakened and ever since, it won't stop speaking. I didn't expect it to speak my language, let alone talk. It told me it's name, Tino. It has beautiful violet eyes, the same color as it's scales. Its human part is pale making him look mysterious. Its hair is light blond, adding to its magical-like apprearence.
*
It asked me what I was doing. I showed it my writing. Now, it wants me to talk about it using "him" as it sees itself as a male. And it got most of the pages of my journal wet.
*
Like I said before, Tino won't halt his speaking. He talked to me about where he comes from, how he came to be here and how he injured himself. I swore I would take revenge upon the fishermen who hurt him. He laughed. I have decided to keep him.
*
I asked Tino if he wanted to stay with me. He agreed.
*
Not only does he speak a lot but he also eats a lot. I left the bathroom to get a snack and brought him a fish, I read in my book that they eat fish. After that, I found myself giving him all the fish in my house, him still being hungry. The days will be long with him.
*
He just asked me to play some music. I had no idea he knew I played an instrument. Nonetheless, I played him my usual melody. He said he loved it. He told me he could listen to it forever. He wanted to try as well, so I gave him the pan. He was terrible. I will pursue writing later, he wants me to play again.

Dear Berwald's Journal,
Berwald has fallen asleep resting on the edge of my minuscule pool he calls bathtub. He has taken such good care of me, I could never be grateful enough. Please excuse my mistakes, I haven't had enough time to fully learn the humans' language.
What Berwald doesn't know, is that I won't be able to stay with him much longer. Mermen have a short life-span and are granted one last journey before their deaths. I had heard about a young and beautiful sailor playing magical notes of music each time he set out to sea. His kindness was said to have no limit, like the drops of water the ocean contains. My last wish was to meet that man. I journeyed the northern seas to find him, and I did.
Berwald, even though we've only known each other for a short twelve hours, I wish for you to know that I have grown to like you very much. I am more than happy that I was able to spend my last hours with someone like you.
I wish you well for the rest of your long human life.
With a lot of love,
Tino.

Dear Journal,
Today I awoke in my bathroom. Tino wasn't in the bathtub anymore. I only found a violet scale floating in the water. I have decided to turn it into a pendent, this way, his memory will always be with me. I read what he had written for me. I had grown to like him as well.
I will continue to play that melody he loved so much. Maybe one day, he'll come to me as another magical creature. I'll wait everyday. I promise.
