In a plain surrounded by the warm colors of the setting sun was a young boy. Sealand sighed and rested his chin on his knees. He felt alone, engulfed by the unlimited sky. The bright pigments reflected in his eyes as he pondered. Maybe if he had a friend, someone to keep him company, he wouldn't feel so alone and small. The blond wearily pushed himself off the ground, the sun was about to disappear for good, and he should get going. He strolled down the small hill and into the forest.

The branches cracked under Latvia's heavy footsteps. He turned his head around and slowly stopped running. He caught his breath with his hands on his knees panting like crazy. The rustling of bushes startled him and he pursued his race. He had managed to slip out of Mr. Russia's house and fled into the forest nearby. Afraid of the massive country finding him, he ran as fast as he could.

During his dash, he didn't see the petite figure in front of him and collided with the being. They ended up one on top of the other. Latvia pushed himself up, breathing heavily. He stared at the young face under him and gushed out an apology. "I'm so sorry! I was running and I didn't see you! Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" spluttered the dark blond nervously. He held his hand out once he was on his feet and the small boy gladly took it. "No, it's fine. I'm not hurt badly," replied the young nation with a wide grin.

Latvia blushed, ashamed that he had been so reckless. He dusted himself off and so did the blue eyed boy. "I'm Sealand by the way," introduced the blond. "I'm a micronation but don't be fooled, I am totally capable of being an actual country, I'm just waiting for the others' approval." The dark blond nodded, slightly taken aback. "I-I'm Latvia..." Sealand extended his hand out for a handshake. "Nice to meet you Latvia. I know this might be a little prompt but I would very much like it if we could become friends," smiled the blue eyed blond with rosy cheeks.

The smile on his face was irresistible and Latvia was completely unable to refuse him. "Yes, sure," he murmured shaking the hand. He smiled contently as he might have finally found a friend who wouldn't try to control or scare him. His happy thoughts were shattered as a familiar voice rose into the air and echoed against the trees. "Latvia! Where are you?"

The shy country flinched and shook in fright. He looked down to the short blond facing him who questionably scanned the area. "Um... Sealand? Would you mind if we go somewhere else?" proposed the blue eyed nation anxiously. Sealand failed to comprehend exactly what was going on but nodded in approval. Latvia grabbed the little sailor's hand and led him through the trees while running.

They ran a couple minutes, hand in hand, before stopping to catch their breaths. Suddenly, between pants, Sealand started giggling. Latvia stared at him while supporting himself on his knees and huffing. "I don't know what's going on... but it was fun," snorted the blond. Latvia cracked a smile and straightened up. "Yeah... Sorry about that..." Sealand shook his head and gazed up to the sky. "It's nothing. Like I said, it was fun, running between the trees with a friend as if we were running from a terrible monster. I felt like I was in an adventure movie!" exclaimed the blue eyed nation with a hearty chuckle.

As both laughed in union, the last rays of light fled from the sky and left them in utter darkness. Latvia pulled a small flashlight from his pocket and turned it on. Sealand watched in astonishment at how the dark blond was fully prepared. "Come, you'll have to get home soon," pointed out the older country, stretching his hand toward his friend. Sealand nodded, a wide grin plastered on his face. He gladly took the hand and they trekked through the woods with only the flashlight to lighten their way.

In the middle of the tall tress and hidden behind bushes was a small wooden cottage. It was old looking and probably only had two separate rooms. "What's that?" questioned Sealand as they passed next to it. "Oh that? It's... my little paradise. I go there when I need some alone time. Even though it's small and doesn't have much in it, I like to spend my free time there, away from any stressful thoughts," explained Latvia, glancing at it shortly. Sealand nodded in understanding.

After fifteen minutes of walking between trees and occasionally chatting, both boys arrived at the end of the forest. A narrow road followed the edge of the woods with a couple lamp posts lightening the path. Latvia pointed to one side of the road and declared, "From what I understood, you need to get to the port. If you follow that path you'll get there shortly, it's not far at all." Sealand grinned at his friend and held his hands behind his back. "Thanks a lot Latvia! I loved that stroll in the forest, it was great. I hope we could see each other again," voiced the blond. Latvia fondled with the flashlight in his hands and blushed. "Of course, why don't you meet me at that cottage tomorrow afternoon?" proposed the dark blond.

Sealand's eyes lit up with the reflection of the dim light. "Yes! I'll see you tomorrow then!" stated the blond nation, waving. Latvia waved back and watched the small boy skip along the road. He smiled and turned to the forest, stepping in it once again. Oh, how he was impatient for the sun to rise again.
