The rustling of leaves can be very relaxing at day but very stressful at night. Matthias held his dagger closely as he walked through the dangerous woods with only the moonlight guiding his steps. The blond hurried down the unclear path and whipped his head around at the slightest of sounds. The area was known for being filled with bloodthirsty, magical creatures. Why Matthias decided to go through there in the middle of the night? Even he didn't know.

A branch cracked close from the blue-eyed human making him jump. He scrutinized the bushes and shrubs for any beasts with his blade firmly held in his hand. A strident screech surprised Matthias from above and he saw four ape-like monsters drop from the trees. He was pinned to the ground and snarled at. The blond rapidly swung his dagger at the creature, stabbing it in the chest.

The other three circled him while huffing and shrieking. His steps were unsure and became more and more limited. One pounced on him, showing off its sharp claws. Matthias crossed his arms over his head and bent down trying to protect himself.

A bright, white beam flew through the air and hit the monster, propelling it against a tree. Matthias peeked with one eye open and slowly straightened up. Someone in a dark cloak was sending rays of burning light to the beasts, killing them all. The blond stared in stupor while letting his jaw hang low. He stumbled up to the sorcerer with bright eyes.

"Who are you?" he asked still slightly fazed from the attacks. The wizard tugged on his hood, pulling it down.

"The guy who just saved your ass," he replied irritatedly. Brushing off his sleeves, the grumpy sorcerer marched away from Matthias. The blond strut behind him putting his dagger away.

"Yeah, thanks about that! Can you tell me your name?"

  "No."

Matthias wasn't discouraged and kept trailing close behind. "I like your cloak," he complimented with a grin. The wizard raised his chin and progressively slowed down. He glanced away and crossed his arms.

"Lukas," he replied bitterly. The blue-eyed man followed him some more and kept questioning him. Very soon, the annoyed man stopped in his tracks and grabbed Matthias by the collar.

"Will you stop talking? What the hell do you want?" spat Lukas, angered. The blond chuckled nervously and slid his hands in his pockets.

"Well... Uh, I... I was wondering if I could... You know... Stay with you the rest of the night?" he admitted sheepishly. The sorcerer groaned and let go of the man. He pressed the bridge of his nose while sighing deeply.

"Fine... But if you try anything funny or if you try to be funny I will dispose of you immediately," he warned resentfully. Matthias nodded with a wide smile. He was let go of and they pursued their way. They knew nothing of each other but the blue-eyed man felt much safer in the company of the wizard. He stayed close to Lukas with a never fading smile.

"Hey Lukas," prodded Matthias excitedly. The blond sighed in exasperation but allowed him to speak. "What do you call a warlock who tries to stop fights?"

"Oh no..." muttered Lukas cringing already.

"A peacelock!" exclaimed Matthias laughing so loudly some forest animals responded to his cries. The sorcerer grimaced angrily and threw a blue ball at the man's face. It blew up and covered his mouth, sticking firmly to his skin.

"I told you to not try and be funny!" shouted Lukas glaring at the jittery blond. It unfortunately had no effect on him and Matthias continued to smile under the magical glue. For some reason he had forgotten about the fact that he was in a dangerous place and was awfully perky.

Both men trekked through the woods carefully. At some point Lukas managed to almost ignore the newly met stranger and his lively antics. The sun finally began to rise and they made it out of the forest. The sorcerer pulled his hood up and stared at Matthias blankly.

"The city is that way. Goodbye," he stated pointing to a road. He took the glue off the man's face and quickly turned around walking down another path. The blue-eyed blond ran up to him and grabbed Lukas' cloak.

  "Wait!"

"What now?" snarled the wizard, yanking his cloth away from Matthias. The man glanced to his feet and tapped them on the dirt.

"Well, I was wondering if I could stay with you," he voiced nervously.

"But I don't like you," replied Lukas flatly.

"Y-yes! I know! But I like you. And I want to get to know you better," argued Matthias.

  "But I don't."

The blond laced his hands together and brought them under his chin. "I know but could you please let me follow you for a little bit longer? Please?" he pleaded, opening his blue eyes widely. Lukas groaned and hit his forehead. With a sigh of defeat he nodded. Matthias jumped with glee and embraced the sorcerer tightly.

Even though Lukas wanted to push the man into the dirt more than anything, he allowed Matthias to hug him for a while. The feeling wasn't too unpleasant. And who knew, maybe the idiot would turn out handy one day?
