Could my thoughts be filled with life,
or could my soul be filled with sanity?
Could I possibly learn to love,
or could I frantically search for an answer?
Could I hopefully lean on you,
or would my body limp and die?
Could I lovingly show you my ways,
the ones I could express so softly,
or would I be killed by your demons?
Could I reveal my faith to you,
could I serenade you with songs and hymns,
could I recite to you the words of the Lord,
or,
or,
or,
could I look up to you
because you're as soft and warm as a kitten
and as beautiful as a mermaid?
Could I love you
because you're my mother?
Could I?
Could I, possibly?
Who am I kidding,
I'm just living within
my lifeless thoughts.
