The Queen of the Preps

Percy, Nico, and I took seats in the back of the room, away from the commotion. I was just plugging my headphones into the port when Mr. Connelly walked in.
"Everybody have a seat." His voice boomed.
Everybody knew Mr. Connelly was a cool teacher, who wouldn't make them do work on the second to last day, so they sat down immediately.
"We have two new students today. They are homeschooled but are coming to this school next year. They are here to see the layout of the school. Everyone be nice and if they need help then help." He said. In response he got a bunch of "Yes Mr. Connelly!" or "Yes Sir!"
"Percy,Nico. Please stand up and present yourselves to the class."
Percy and Nico stood up. From the class arose a bunch of awwws from the girls and from the boys a bunch of yeahs. All the boys look for in new guys is good sports players because our team thinks they're awesome but they really can't play sports for the life in them. The reaction that scared me the most was the Queen of the Preps reaction. One of those evil-yet-beautiful, cunning smiles.
"Today you may do whatever you want but you must remain quiet." Mr. Connelly said. Most people gathered in their groups. The Preps with the Preps, the jocks with the jocks and their Prep girlfriends and then the popular but not as popular as the Preps, the Mean Girls. I ,of course, was with Nico and Percy. Now that Mr. Connelly was done talking I put one headphone in and hung the other over my ear so I could talk to Nico and Percy too.
"Hello boys!" I turned my head towards the voice. Even though I already knew who it was. The Queen of the Preps, Kitty Denn.
"Can I help you?" Nico said nicely.
"Yeah. I'm just wondering why you are sitting with her?" Kitty said.
"Because she's our friend." Nico said.
"Well...I guess you didn't hear about her yet." She said.
"Oh. And what should we know about her?" Percy asked with, what seemed like, actual curiosity.
"Well...Did you hear about what she did at the beginning of the year?" She questioned.
"No." Nico said."What did she do?"
"Ohh...Well I don't like to gossip but she tried to steal my boyfriend away from me by kissing him." She said.
"I didn't do that." I said in a low voice.
"Ohh...Honey!" She said gesturing towards her boyfriend. He walked over."Didn't this girl kiss you to try and steal you away from me." She asked innocently.
"Yeah." He said. Of course he would say that. He had to please her to keep her.Who wouldn't want to date the most popular girl in seventh and eighth grade?
              After that he left.
"See. I think you boys should come with me." She said.
             "I think we should. Nico come on." Percy said.
              And with that he and Nico walked away. My fear had come true. Kitty had told them rumors about me and now I lost them.
              We had a minute left in class then to gym. All four of us have Ms. Crow. This should be fun.
              All of a sudden Percy and Nico started walking towards me.
             "What happened? Why are you guys coming back over here?" I asked.
             "We went over there to have a nice talk with that guy and his girlfriend." Percy answered."Let's just say that rumor is never to be spoken of again."
              "You do realize you just gave up popularity for nothing, right?" I asked.
              "So. We would much rather have you and Paige as our friends then the people who are willing to ruin someone's life because that person might be smarter than them." Nico said.
              "Thanks guys!" I said. Then the bell rang."To gym!" I said.
