Everything is Changing

The Battle

Maggie's Point of View
   I held Nico in my arms. It was all my fault.
  "I'm so sorry, Nico. I did this. I did this to you." I had tears running down my face. They fell onto his hair.
"No, Maggie. This wasn't you. This was someone controlling you." He said through shallow breaths. He could be dying.
"By the way, I know it wasn't you who handed us over." I told him.
"Good. And believe me, I don't want to break up with you." He laughed which caused him to flinch in more pain.
By now everybody was around us.
"What should we do now Maggie?" Percy asked.
I stood up and walked about ten feet away.
"I'm sorry guys." I paused. "But this is my fight."
      I made a sphere of water around them. Then I add a layer of light. Then a layer of precious gems. Then shadows. Then ice. Then air. Then fire. Then a lightning storm. Then I used the mist to hide them from Ouranos's view to protect them.
    "Oh look at you Maggie." Ouranos said. "Fighting for your little friends. Thinking it will change something. But as soon as your dead I'll find them and kill them too." He laughed. He started to float into the air.
    "This fight is between me and you." I said.
     I shot a ray of light at him. He dodged and stopped about a hundred feet in the air. He hit me with a gust of wind. I lost my balance but quickly regained it. I flew into the sky to fight him.
    "Now Jax!" Ouranos yelled.
     Suddenly I was blinded by light. Then I felt something hit the wind shield I put up. I used shadows to balance out the light back to normal. It turns out Ouranos and Jax tried to kill me by both attacking at the same time. It didn't work. Now I was pissed. I knocked Jax with a gust of wind. He fell back onto the patio. I turned to Ouranos. He actually looked scared. He put his hands in front of him.
    "Now Maggie. You don't want to kill me." He said.
    "You're right." I said. "I don't want to. I need to kill you. You are just causing death and pain. And it will only get worse."
    I blinded him with light and used a gust of wind to push him to the ground. His back was on the ground. I was ten feet in the air.
"Maggie!" I heard Percy and Nico yell.
    "Goodbye Nico. I love you. Goodbye everybody." I yelled.

Nico's Point of View
    I was sitting there. We heard some of what they were saying. I went to sit up and felt a sharp pain. I winced.
   "Here." Percy said. "Let me help you with that."
    He put his hand over it. Then he touched the wall of water around us. I felt the water go on and through the cut. I got a tingling sensation. I looked down to see a long scar where the cut had been. I stood up.
    "Thanks." I said. I thought for a moment. "We need to get out of here."
    "Yeah. We do. What's your pla—" Percy stopped mid sentence. He looked sad and confused.
    "What's wrong Percy?" I asked him.
    "I...hear...anymore." He mumbled.
    "What? I couldn't hear or understand you." Angel said. Everybody nodded in agreement.
    "I don't hear them anymore." This time I understood and so did everybody else because it got silent. After two minutes of nothing, I turned to Percy.
"You don't think..." I said to him. He shook his head.
"No. No no no. NO!" He yelled. Then we heard a thud.
"Maggie!" We both yelled.
"Goodbye Nico. I love you. Goodbye everybody." I heard Maggie clearly.
After two minutes the sphere around us started to fade. After we saw the light fade we braced ourselves for what we would see. It still didn't help. It still didn't help seeing her like that.

Maggie's Point of View
After I said goodbye to Nico, I turned back to Ouranos. He was still on the ground. He hit me with a gust of wind. I lost my balance but caught myself about four feet above the ground. I hit him with a light to his eyes. Then a gust of wind to hold him to the ground. In that moment I felt the power surging through me.
I put my hands in front of me and put them palms out, facing him. I focused and a mixture of all my powers shot out of my hands. Light, Lightning, Wind, Ice, Dark, Water, Earth, and Fire. All mixed in one. I could feel my energy slowly fading away with every second that passed. I heard Ouranos scream. Then there was an explosion and I saw gold dust fly into the air. It rained down like confetti.
I stopped my powers and felt weak. I drifted to the ground. My back was on the ground. I looked up at the sky.
This is what I was made for. To fight for them and die because of it. To leave behind Nico, the person I loved deeply. The person who never stopped believing there was a different way. To leave Percy and Jason, my brothers by heart, who never let me down or stopped believing there was a different way. To leave Hazel, Frank and Annabeth, people who tried to help and did help. They never stopped believing either. And Angel. I only knew her for a day but she was part of our group. And she always would be.
I was now lying on the ground. I didn't really feel anything. But then again I wasn't trying to move. I knew it would hurt but I didn't want to test that theory. I'm dying. I shut my eyes and embraced whatever was coming. I felt arms around me before I felt nothing.

Nico's Point of View
I ran over to Maggie. I pulled her into my arms and cradled her. Her eyes were shut. She looked peaceful except for the blood on her leg. She had a cut. It was as if a rock hit her. But nevertheless she looked peaceful. I felt her go limp in my arms.
"I'm so sorry Maggie." I cried into her hair. "I'm so so sorry!"
I just sat there and cried. There was nothing else to do. I had lost my other half. My love. My world. It felt as if someone hit me in the heart. It broke my heart so much it physically hurt.
"I'm sorry!" I said one last time.
