Everything is Changing

Lost Memory

It was Jax. He was walking towards me. I started to back away. He kept walking towards me. My house is at the bottom of the hill. On the top there is a baseball field. I ran towards the baseball field.
    "Maggie. Maggie! Why are you running?" He said.
    He was behind me. I got to the baseball field. When I turned around he was right there. All the memories came flooding back. The memories I tried so hard to forget just came back to me. When he hit me in the back of the head. When he kidnapped me. When he impersonated Nico. When he let Ouranos use me. When I fell into Tartarus because of what he did. With all these memories going through my head, on repeat, at an unreasonable speed, there was a sharp pain in my head. The pain felt unnatural but natural at the same time. It felt unnatural because of how bad it hurt. It felt natural as if it was cause from a broken heart or something. It was a broken heart. He was my best friend. One of the few people who accepted me for who I am. One of my only other friends at the time that was a demigod. It did break my heart that he did that. I was crying out in pain. I felt my knees go out. I was kneeling now. I couldn't see. The pain was literally blinding.
    "Maggie, what's wrong?" Jax asked.
    "You hurt me. You betrayed me. You...you...you almost killed me." I said between the shouts of pain.
    "What? What are you talking about?" Jax said. The pain stopped.
   "What do you mean? You hurt me!" I said. Nico came running up the hill now. He looked mad.
   "How? How did I hurt you? I don't remember anything from the past two months." Jax said. Nico was behind Jax now.
   "Get away from her!" Nico said.
   Nico grabbed Jax's arm and pulled him back. He punched Jax in the gut. Jax fell to the ground. Then Nico punched him again in the face.
    "Nico! Stop!" I said. Nico was still beating him.
    I used the wind to lift Nico off of Jax. Nico was in the air. I sat him down right in front of me.
    "Nico, he doesn't remember anything from the past two months." He looked at me then at Jax. Jax was up off the ground. He was standing now.
    "Oh." That's all Nico could say. Aaron was now there. Jax walked back over.
    "Maggie, can you explained to me how I hurt you?" Jax said. He looked sad.
    "You betrayed me. You acted as if you were my friend and then you kidnapped me. Then we broke free and you kidnapped Nico. You then impersonated Nico and kidnapped me again. You used me so you could raise Ouranos. And during the fight with Ouranos, you tried to help him kill me. Then we handed you over to the gods and goddesses." I explained, almost crying. Almost.
   "I'm so sorry Maggie. Why did I do this?" Jax asked.
   "Because I chose Nico over you." I explained.
   "Maggie, I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened to me then." He looked away.
   "I'm sorry for beating you Jax." Nico said.
   "It's okay Nico. I'm assuming you're Nico." Jax said.
   "Yeah." Nico said.
   "Wait. You said you don't remember the last two months. What if you were being possessed by Ouranos?" I suggested.
   "That could have been." Nico agreed.
   "Really?" Jax asked. "Does that mean I didn't betray you?"
   "Oh my gosh. Yes! That means you didn't betray me!" I hugged him. He hugged back.
"Oh. How I've missed you, Maggie." Jax said.
"I have missed you too." I said. We pulled apart. "Nico we should go and see if my parents are home because you have to meet them and we need a place to stay." I said to Nico.
"Okay." He said, nervously.
"Are you nervous?" I asked.
"Yes. I have to meet your parents as your boyfriend." Nico said.
"It will be fine. Bye Jax." I waved by to Jax and grabbed Nico's hand.
We walked down to my house hand-in-hand. When we arrived at my house I saw my mom's car was home. We parked on the other side of the street. We went up to the door and I knocked. My mom answered.
"Maggie. I have missed you." She said pulling me in. Nico and Aaron stood outside the door.
   "You can come in." I said to them. They came in behind me. I followed my mom into the living room where my stepdad and sister was. My sister's name is Claudia.
   "Hey Claudia!" I said.
   "S'up Nerd!" She said to me.
   "How have you been?" I asked.
   "Good. You?" She asked.
   "Okay." I said.
   "Cool. So are you having fun at Camp Half-Blood?" She asked. I sighed in relief.
   "Good. You know. So I almost died three times." I said casually.
    "Story time later?" She asked.
    "Story time later." I said to her.
    "Would you like some cookies you three?" My mom asked.
    "Yes please." I said. "Mother. Erik. I would like you to meet boyfriend, Nico." I said. My mom and stepdad came over to shake Nico's hand.
    "Maggie. Claudia. Why don't you two go catch up? We would like to talk to Nico." My mom said.
    "Okay. Come on Claudia. You grab your chair and come to my room. Then we will tell the stories." I said.
    We got upstairs and Claudia grabbed her chair from her room then came to my room. We talked for a little. We also tried to hear the conversation between the parents and Nico.
   "Do you think it's going well?" I asked Claudia.
   "I think. Why?" Claudia asked.
   "Because we need a place to sleep tonight." I said.
   "Oh. So how do you sleep at Camp Half-Blood?" Claudia asked.
   "In Nico's bed. With him." I replied simply.
