Maggie's Point Of View
"Okay. First, sight. Close your right eye." I said, getting my clipboard and writing Nico's name down. "Can you read the bottom row?"
"Yes." He said.
"Okay. Please read it."
"D. E. F. P. O. T. E. C."
"Good. Now cover your left eye and read the bottom if you can."
"D. E. F. P. O. T. E. C."
"Good. Now weight."
"I would rather not." He said. I looked at him, concerned.
"Why not? Is something wrong Nico?" I asked.
Nico's Point of View
"Good. Now weight." Maggie said.
"I would rather not." I said. She looks at me concerned.
"Why not? Is something wrong Nico?" She asked me.
"Umm...nothing." I said. She was not buying it.
"Nico, it's okay. You can tell me, Maggie, not the doctor." She put her hands on me arms, sending chills up and down my arms. She still gives me chills every time she touches me.
"I'm just not the weight I'm supposed to be." I explain.
"Well, neither am I. I'm probably overweight." She says with a smile. "Why don't we see? I still didn't have my check-up. I can do my weight now."
"Okay."
I stepped on the scale. I am 130 pounds. Maggie stepped on next she was 150. She didn't look happy.
"Hey. It's okay." I picked her up.
"What are you doing?" She screamed while laughing.
"You looked down so I wanted to pick up your spirit." I winked at her. "Get it?" I started to laugh. So did she.
"Yes. Now put me down. I have to ask Will something." She said.
I put her down. She left and I heard whispers. She came back in with a sad, serious look on her face. She stood in front of me. She gestured for me to sit on the bed so I did. Our eyes were level and she was looking straight into mine.
"What's wrong, Maggie?" She started smiling.
"Nico, you're at a perfect weight for your age and height." She jumped into my arms.
"So we are healthy?" He asked.
"Well, I'm pretty sure we are but we still have check-ups to get through to actually know." She explained. "I need you to put this hospital gown on. Leave your underwear on but take everything else off."
She walked out and closed the curtain. I took my hoodie off, then my shirt, then my pants. I grabbed the hospital gown and put it on. I sat down on the bed.
"Okay. You're good." She comes back in. "Why did you leave? It isn't anything you haven't seen before." I whisper to her.Maggie's Point Of View
"Okay. You're good." I walk back in. "Why did you leave? It isn't anything you haven't seen before." He whispers to me.
"It's unprofessional, babe." I replied.
"Babe? I never thought you were a "babe" type of girl."
"I am. I'm not a "baby" type of girl. It's just weird." I said while getting all my supplies ready.
"Okay." He replied.
I put gloves on. First, I check his pulse. It was good. Next, I use the sphygmomanometer to check his blood pressure. That's good too. I listened to his lungs and heart with the stethoscope. Everything was good.
"Open your mouth wide." I told Nico. He didn't. "Nico."
"What?" He said innocently.
"Open your mouth." I told him again.
"Make me." He was being stubborn.
"I'm not playing your childish games."
"Okay."
"Now open your mouth Nico!" I tried again.
"Make me." He said again.
He asked for it. I leaned in and kissed him. He kissed back. I ran my tongue over his bottom lip. He opened his mouth. I held his mouth open while I check his throats for any signs of diseases.
"You tricked me!" He whined.
"No. I made you." I said. I leaned down and planted a quick kiss on his lips.
I checked his eyes next. Then I checked his ears. Next was his reflexes. I tapped his left knee. I tapped his right knee. Good. I had him squeeze my hand with his left hand then his right hand. I had him push down on my hand with each of his hands. Then I had him push up on my hand with each of his hands. He got changed back into his clothes.
"Okay. You are good to go." I told him, taking my gloves off. I threw them away. We started walking back over to Will and Aaron.
"Are you good to come with me?" Nico asked.
"No. I have to help with check-ups." I explained to him. He groaned.
"Actually if you take the girls from the Athena cabin, you can go. The Aphrodite cabin reschedule for 12:00. And I already got Percy. And I'm working on the guys from the Athena cabin." Will said.
"Okay."
I got to work. I had seven girls to take care of. I did the same procedure, for each of them, that I did for Nico, excluding the kiss. I finished in a half hour. I walked back out to find Will and Nico and Aaron sitting there, waiting.
"Okay. Let's go." I said.
"Wait Maggie." Will said.
"Why?" I thought. "Oh. Okay let's get this over with."
We got the sight and weight out of the way. I changed into the hospital gown behind a curtain and came back out. We went through the whole procedure again. I was all good. I was about to change when Will started to ask me something.
"Maggie, since you lost a lot of blood over the past month, can I take some blood samples?" Will asked. Will got everything ready and found the spot to inject the needle.
"Sure. How many?" I asked.
"Four." Will responded. He stuck the needle in my arm.
"You're going to inject her four times?" Nico asked.
"No. It's a system where you put the needle in and the tube detaches from the needle. You only take out the tube and replace it. Just one injection. See." I explained.
"How do you know so much?" Nico asked.
"Okay. For the third time, I'm a daughter of Athena and I have had blood samples taken before and Will is teaching me medical procedures." I explained. Will took the needle out and put a bandage on it.
"Okay. Let's go. I have something planned." Nico said. He dragged me out the door.
"Oh boy! Bye Will! Bye Aaron!" The adventure begins.
