The Day My Life Changed

The day started normal. Paige and I woke up then went to school. At the end of the last day of school we parted ways and I went home. When I got home I was planning on staying at my house then Chris came, ten minutes after I got home, and asked if I could come down and hang out at the playground. Of course I said yes.
After thirty minutes something strange started to happen. About three or five new kids showed up. And I know that doesn't sound weird but at this playground everyone knew everyone. I'm a social outcast though so I ask Chris but he didn't know them, which made it strange. They also kept staring at me. The weird thing was that their eyes were not normal. Every time they caught the light there eyes would turn pure red. No iris, just red. And then go back to the regular brown-green mix.
I continued hanging out with Chris, but a few minutes later I caught a glimpse of one of them. Instead of a normal human hand there was a brown, hairy hoof, like a bull's. I turned to Chris and told him to go home now. He turned and went home trusting me. When I turned back towards them, Percy and Nico were coming into the park and heading towards the boys. I was about to yell to them to stay away from those boys when Percy pulled out a shiny, silver sword. He hit one of the boys with it and the boy evaporated to dust. After that I ran as fast as I could home and went to my room.
Five minutes later, there was a knock at the door. I went to the top of the second floor stairs and heard Percy talking to my mom.
"They are starting to realize who she is. It's not going to be long before more come for her." Percy explained to my mom.
"Fine." She replied. "Maggie!" She yelled to me. I went down stairs and there was Percy, Nico, my stepdad, Erik , and my mom.
"Maggie, I need to tell you something." She took a breath before continuing. "You're a demigod. You need to pack a bag, enough clothes and necessities for a week, and come down here. You have ten minutes."
I ran up to my room to pack my bag. I packed two pairs of compression pants, two pairs of jeans, a pair of pajama shorts, five shirts, a pair of flats, a hairbrush, body spray, deodorant, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a pillow, and the stuffed puppy I've had my whole life. Then I went back downstairs to find my dad was there, too.
"We love you. This is for your own good." My mom explained.
After all the goodbyes, we started up towards the baseball fields at the top of the hill. It was very isolated, with tree surrounding every side. When we got up there there was a huge ship floating in the air.
"How has no one seen this?" I asked shocked.
"It called the Mist. It keeps mortals from seeing the demigod world." Percy said.
We had to climb up a long ladder to get to the ship. Once we got to the deck five people greeted us. Annabeth, daughter of Athena, who was very nice and offered to give me a tour around. Hazel, daughter of Pluto, who was hanging out with Frank, son of Mars. They both said "Hi." Rhaeghan, daughter of Poseidon, who was hanging out with Leo, son of Hephestus. She also offered me a tour. Everybody greeted me and said hi except for Nico. He was nowhere to be found.
"Come on Maggie. Annabeth and I will show you around and show you to your room." Rhaeghan said.
After we had been walking around for a little bit I ask them a question.
       "Where's Nico?"
"Oh. He hides up on the mast. He doesn't like talking to people." We stopped at a door. "This is your room. I'm sorry but it's going to take two or three days to get back to Camp Half-Blood." Annabeth explained.
"No. That's fine. Thank you so much." I said before entering my room and closing the door.
The room had a built-in air conditioner but no windows. It had black walls and a black and white rug on the floor. The bed set was a black and white design that looked so beautiful. The bathroom was amazing. A beautiful granite sink, a nice shower, and a marble wall design.
After I checked out the whole room I put my clothes in the dresser. I changed into my pajama shorts and a baggy black t-shirt. Then I listened to music.
In the middle of singing "I Really Like You" by Carly Rae Jepson, there was a knock at my door. I paused the music and opened the door. I open the door to find an annoyed looking Nico.
"I was told to show you to the dining hall." Nico said. After last night he had been ignoring and not talking to me.
"Okay. Thanks." I slipped on my flip-flops and followed him down the hall. Right across from the steps, leading under the deck, was a set of double doors. When Nico opened them I saw a long table with chairs all around it and plates set up at each seat. Seven plates.
"Thank you for showing me here."
"No problem." He said as he walked up the stairs. That's why there are only seven plates.
I didn't really feel like eating so I just sat there. At the end of dinner Percy started talking about taking turns keeping watch.
"Alright Leo and me on first." Percy said.
"Rhaeghan and me on second." Annabeth said.
"Frank and me on third watch." Hazel said.
"I'll do first watch too." I said wanting to help.
"You don't have to..." Percy said.
      "I insist." I said.
"Ok. See everyone later." Percy dismissed us.
After the meeting I went back to my room to take a shower. Then listened to music and read my book for about a hour. That's when Percy came to get me for first watch.
