The Dark

Maggie's Point of View
"Nice to finally meet you in person." Ouranos turned to me. He had black hair and black eyes. Not beautiful, like Nico's, but all black. He was wearing a black suit and shirt with a dark blood red tie. His skin was so pale he looked dead. I couldn't move. At all.
"I know you can't move. Can you?" He asked. I still couldn't move.
"What are you doing to me?" I asked, still not being able to move.
"Well now that I'm in my original form I don't just invade your mind. I can control it. But I'll stop and let you have a fair chance." He said turning and walking towards Jax. Jax pushed Percy off him. He stood up and bowed.
"Why?" I asked. "Why me?"
"It's the gods' faults really. They gave you the power to defeat me. I have to stop you so in the end it really is their faults. But you can get back at them." He turned toward me again and started to walk slowly towards me. "Join my army and you will be able to rule along side me." He held out his hand for me to take.
     "So I can watch you kill my friends." I slowly grabbed my sword. "No thanks." I slashed him across the cheek with my sword. He turned back towards me, angry.
     All of the sudden, I couldn't breathe. My lungs wouldn't work. It felt as if someone had their hands around my throat. The more I lost my breath, the more I clawed at my throat for the invisible hands. The feeling stopped and I was breathing heavily. Ouranos laughed.
     Next, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. What I imagine being stabbed is like. I hold my stomach. Then a pain goes all throughout my body. I fell to the ground screaming. It hurt so bad.
     "Ready to join." He laughed.
      I was still in pain, screaming. He stopped after five minutes. I was still on the ground, back arched from all the pain. It was still in my body. I could finally stop withering from the pain. It was mostly gone. I could finally start to calm my breathing too.
I noticed the ground was shaking a little bit. So I stood up and it started to shake more.
"Why's the ground shaking?"
Everybody just seemed to notice too. Ouranos ran over to Jax and whispered something in his ear. Jax then lead him out of the room. At the door way Ouranos turned around.
"Until we meet again." Then he left with Jax.
Nico ran over to me and hugged me. I missed him so much. And judging by his hug, he missed me too. A lot. I couldn't breathe. He let go a little but kept me in his arms. I looked into his eyes. He was crying. I wiped away his tears.
     "It's all my fault." He said.
     "What are you talking about?"
     "It's my fault any of this happened." He breathed in between sobs. I pulled him into a hug.
     "None of this is your fault." I whispered in his ear.
     "We shouldn't have listened to them. If we hadn't not been seeing each other, this won't have happened. How could you love me after I let this happen." He was blaming himself. How could he blame himself? He was the only one who actually understood me.
    "Listen to me Nico." I made him look at me. I wiped away his tears. "This isn't your fault. You are the only person who understands me and who has stood by me. None of this is your fault. This happened because of Ouranos. He's to blame. Don't ever think that I don't love you. The day I stop loving you is the day long, long after you stop loving me. Okay?" I didn't realize I was crying until he wiped my tears away.
      "Okay, Love." He cupped his hand on my cheek and kissed me in front of everybody, as if there was no tomorrow. I kissed back. When we stopped, Percy spoke.
     "Guys we should probably get out of here. Like now." He said looking around. I hadn't even realized the ceiling was sinking in.
     "Okay let's go." Nico said turning around letting go of me for one second.
      In that one second, all my happiest memories flashed before my eyes. The first was of my first encounter with Paige, my best friend. She let me sit with her since my supposed "friends" ditched me because of a misunderstanding over the summer. We talked and laughed. That's when I met Molly too. My other best friend. She had been friends with Paige we all got along but Molly had to move halfway through the year. We don't really hear from her much. Next was the first time I met Nico and Percy. Us laughing together, Paige was there. Then when we had the Horror Extravaganza. The moments flashed before my eyes. The one that seemed to take the longest was when Nico told me he loved me. It was an amazing moment. There weren't any fireworks or sparks but something more important. I saw the world brighter that day and every day since.
    Until the day they broke us up. The world seemed dull. In black and white. No bright colors, no birds chirping. Nothing. But when he snuck into my room last night I saw it again. The high definition version of the world.
    You may ask why my happiest moments flashed before my eyes. Well at that second in time, everything changed.
     In that one second I felt the weight go out from under me. In that one second I was weightless. In that one second I grabbed onto a rock that stuck out. In that one second I looked into his eyes, him hanging over the edge. In the next second I made my decision.
     "I love you and always will Nico." And I let go of the rock that stuck out.
     In three seconds my whole world changed. And now I was falling into the dark.
