I didn't even need to turn around to know who it was.
"Ouranos..." I said turning around.
"The one and only. I came to warn you to give up now and join me. We could take over the world." His red eyes grew darker.
"And why would I join your side? I hate you, remember?" I asked. My voice slowly turning into a growl.
"Because if you don't you will be sorry. I'm still going to torture you in your dreams." He said calmly.
"Go ahead try but I won't break." I told him.
"You will if I take the person from your dream." He said.
I came to realize he meant Nico. I had a crush on him for almost a month. The first time Ouranos haunted me in my dreams was the time I dreamed me and Nico were together. He knew I liked Nico and was willing to hurt him to get to me. I ran to fight him but Nico held me back. I watched as he slowly dissolved to nothing. Nico let go of me.
"Why would you do that?" I turned around, yelling.
"I'm sorry. I was just trying to help you. He could have hurt you." Nico said, trying to calm me down.
"I could have stop this!" I screamed. It didn't matter if I was screaming anymore everyone was watching now. He stepped towards me.
"No. I need to go." I said then turn and ran towards the border. I called the one other demigod I knew who wasn't at camp and who was one of my best friends.
Nico's Point of View
I tried to go over to her and calm her down.
"No. I need to go." Then she turned and ran to the border.
I was so mad at myself. This was my fault. She ran away because of me. I shouldn't have stop her but I didn't want her to get hurt. I was flooded with feelings. I was sad, happy, and relieved. I was sad because she ran away from me. I was happy she was at least still talking to me. And I was relieved that she was safe. But most of all I was angry. I was angry Ouranos was taunting her. I was angry I stopped her. I was angry that she was going to who knows where. But I was most angry because she was mad at me. I understand her reasoning for being mad at me and I'm not angry about that. I'm angry because I don't like when Maggie isn't happy. When she's happy I'm happy. When she's sad I'm sad. It's just how we work.
I got so frustrated that I turned around and punched the flag pole. Not a smart move. Soon Percy and Annabeth were dragging me to the infirmary. Hazel, Frank, Jason, and Leo trailed behind us.
"You guys go wait in the Hades cabin. We will be there after we get his hand fixed." Percy said.
Percy and Annabeth stayed with me. When we got inside a girl took my hand and showed me to a bed and told me to sit down. She left. Ten minutes later she came back in. She took my hand and said something in Ancient Greek. Then she wrapped it up and said I was good to go. I walked out to the waiting room to find Percy and Annabeth.
"There you are! It's been forty-five minutes. We were starting to get worried. Let's go." Percy said.
We walked to the Hades cabin. I opened the door to find Hazel, Frank, Leo, and Jason waiting for us. When I settled down they asked me what happened. I told them the story until the part when they came in.
"And now she's mad at me." I said to finish.
"It's okay, Nico. She will be back soon." Annabeth said. My phone rang.
"Hello?" I asked because I forgot to look at the caller id.
"Hey Neeks!" It was Maggie. "I'm so sorry. I know you were just trying to protect me."
"It's okay. I was just trying to protect you." I said.
"I'm sorry for yelling too." She said.
"I forgive you." I said with a smile on my face.
"I was yelling because Ouranos keeps bothering me. I am really sorry Nee—" She never finish her sentence.
That's when I heard glass shatter. I ran out of the Hades cabin. I looked at my phone to find Maggie's location. We had each other's phone tracked in case one of us gets in trouble. I saw her location was thirty minutes away so I started to run.
Maggie's Point of View
When his car drove up to the road in front of me I smiled. I could always trust both my best friends. I was not angry at Nico. I just need a moment. I got in his car and buckled my seatbelt.
"Good. Safety first. Now we can take a ride." He said then started to drive off.
"Thank you, Jax." I said. His black hair reflected the sun that wasn't going down for hours yet. He looked at me with his blue eyes.
"You're welcome, Maggie." He paused. "Now what's wrong?"
"Who said anything is wrong?" I asked him.
"One, I'm your best friend and I know when you're upset. Two, you're face is red. And three, I know you are mad because you were probably with Nico and wouldn't call me unless something happened." He said with a sigh.
He knew I liked Nico. I meet Jax about five months ago. Four months before I meet Nico. I didn't find out he was a demigod until I came to camp the very first day.
"Okay. Well you know how Ouranos has been trying to basically kill me?" I asked.
"Yep. With the dreams and all that." He answered eyes focused on the road. Even though you were driving on the back roads in the countryside. This is what we do when we need to talk.
"Well...he paid me a little visit today. I went to fight him but Nico held me back. Then Ouranos got away. I yelled at Nico then ran and called you." I finished.
"You're not really mad at him though. Are you?" He asked in a calm voice.
"No. I yelled out of anger. Because Ouranos will not leave me alone. I like Nico. I could never really be mad at him." I confessed.
"Is he your boyfriend?" He asked me.
"Yes...Why?" I asked back.
"Maggie, I have to tell you something...", he paused,"I like you. Like really like you. Ever since the first time we talk. Even if Nico is your boyfriend I like you." He said.
"I like you a little, too. But I think I love Nico." You said the words out loud. After a minute he said something.
"Call him." He said. "He just wants to know you are okay."
"Thanks Jax." I said. I picked up my phone and dialed Nico's number.
"Hello?" He answered. He must have forgotten to look at the caller id.
"Hey Neeks!" I said. "I know you were just trying to protect me." I explained.
"It's okay. I was just trying to protect you." He said.
"I'm sorry for yelling too." I said.
"I forgive you." He said.
"I was yelling because Ouranos keeps bothering me. I am really sorry Nee—" I never got to finish my sentence before I was sent out the side of Jax's convertible.
