Maggie's Point Of View
I grabbed the peroxide. I went to pour it when my mom grabbed it. She put a towel under my leg and the other towel up to catch the peroxide.
"You might want to hold on the something." My mom said. Nico grabbed my hand immediately. "Ready?"
"Sure." I said.
Turns out I was not prepared. I grabbed onto Nico's hand and I'm pretty sure I almost broke it. His face contorted in pain.
"I'm so sorry, Nico!" I said between breaths.
"It's okay." He said. He just held my hand tighter.
"It hurts." I said to Nico.
"Okay. I have a solution. Just listen to me." He said. He took a deep breath and started to sing."Close your eyes
I know what you see
The darkness is high
And you're in ten feet deep
But we've survived
More terrible monster than sleep
And you know i will be here, to tell you to breathe
Tu sei il mio soldatino (you're my little soldier)
la ragione per cui vivo (the reason i live)
non ti scordar di me (don't forget me)
io vegliero su di te (i'm watching over you)
stumbling lost
The last choice of all that you meet
It's the cost
Of rulling those 'neath you feet
Paths you've crossed, and trust you're trying to keep
You're exhausted
Listening for a voice that can't speak
Ma nico mio caro
Tu sei il mio soldatino (you're my little soldier)
la ragione ho vissuto (the reason i live)
non ti scordar di me (don't forget me)
io vegliero su di te (i'm watching over you)
So you run
Through shadows you roam
seams undone
By the love you thought you could own
but he's just one
Of many that you might call home
And maybe someday, the bitter will fade from your bones
Fade from your bones...
ho.oh.
eri il mio soldatino (you were my little soldier)
ora un principe oscuro (now a dark prince)
ma anche per te, c'e una luce (but even for you, there is a light)
che ad un'altra vita ti conduce (that leads you to another life)." Nico finished.
"All done!" My mom said.
"Thank you, Nico!" I put my arms around Nico's neck. I was still sitting.
"You're welcome." He hugged me back. I yawned. I tried to hide it but my mom and Nico noticed.
"Are you tired?" My mom asked.
"A little." I replied.
"Well, a lot of pain does take its toll on you. Both mentally and physically." Nico said. "Why don't I take you upstairs?"
"Okay." I said.
My mom wrapped my leg up with gauze and bandages. After she finished, Nico picked me up, careful not to hurt me, and took me up to my room. When we finally got upstairs, he sat me down on the bed. He leaned down and kissed my forehead.
"I love you." He said. I looked up at him.
"I love you too." I said. He started to leave. I grabbed his wrist. He turned around and looked at me with a quizzical look.
"Please stay with me." I whined. He looked at me and laughed.
"You're really desperate. Aren't you?" He asked, fully turning around.
"Yes. How could you tell?" I asked. I still haven't let go of his wrist.
"You whined. You never whine." He said. He sat at the edge of the bed.
"You should get some rest." He said.
"I'm not that tired." I said. "And I want to watch a movie with you. And spend time with you." I looked down at his hand and started to play with it. "We have barely spent anytime together since the fight with Ouranos. I mean we couldn't really but I want to now before something else comes up."
"Okay. What do you want to watch?" Nico asked. He went over to my bookshelf to look at the movies I had on the bottom two shelves.
"Corpse Bride or The Nightmare Before Christmas. It doesn't matter." I said.
"Are you sure you aren't a child of Hades?" Nico asked. He put the DVD in and came and sat down on the bed next to me.
"I hope not." I said.
"That would be weird." Nico added. I grabbed the remote to fast forward through the previews.
"But I might be soon." I whispered.
"Yep. You might." Nico said smirking.
"You weren't supposed to hear th—" It took me a moment to realize what he said. "Nico?! What do you mean?"
"Well, it's not like I'm not in love with you. I am. I will love you to the end of time. And even if I don't marry you, Hades will invite you to every family dinner. He absolutely loves you. Every time I went down there since I met you, he would ask about you." He explained. We were both laughing.
The movie screen popped up. He chose Corpse Bride. It started playing. I was singing the song when I caught Nico looking at me. When he saw me looking back, he turned back to the movie. His cheeks were bright red. I let it go and continue singing. When Victor said the vows in the forest, I recited them word for word.
"I love you." Nico turned to me suddenly and said.
"I love you too. But why?" I asked.
"You just do cute little things. I love it." He said.
"Thanks babe." I said.
I leaned up and kissed him. He kissed me back. I sat up more and pulled back a little. I looked at Nico. His eye were black and beautiful. He was looking at me. Not my mouth, but my eyes.
"Can I kiss you again?" Nico asked. I laughed a little.
"Of course." He leaned down and kissed me.
He started to kiss me more. He put his hand behind my head. He was passionate. I put my arms around his neck. He moved his arms down to my back to pull me closer.
