8. You just declared war little girl
- No! No! Stop it! Stop it now! Samantha leave your brother alone! Samantha don't make me come over there... - Tired, I threw myself on the couch and sighed heavily. And I thought babysitting children would be interesting. What a fool. Well, they are interesting but still... I am very distracted these days. Past nights I haven't been able to sleep more than two hours. The subject of my dreams is a brown-haired guy with green eyes. I shuddered remembering my dream. I usually dream of memories. I still dream about things that have happened a long time ago, but instead of a real person responsible for my nightmares, there was Damien. I don't know why, but dreams like that make me even more upset than usual. What gives me comfort about my dreams about memories is that I know it has passed. All of that that I dream about is long gone... But these new nightmares, they scare me too much... I just think about that happening again, about Damien hurting me and it leaves me paralyzed with fear at nights. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I screamed. As I turned around I was met with a blond girl with wide-open eyes. I smiled at her and tried to stay focused.
- Sam, you scared me. What's the matter, honey? - The girl smiled broadly and jumped in my lap.
- Nothing, I just don't want to play with Sandor! He just wants to fight, and break heads of my dolls. I want to sit with you. What are you doing? - She asked softly and looked me in the eyes.
- I'm thinking. And why are you so sad? Did something happen? - I asked wanting to change the subject. When Samantha decided to know something she doesn't give up.
- It's nothing... Actually... There is something, but you have to promise not to tell anyone... - She said with a worried look on her face and I giggled at it. Who knows what it is. I held out my pinky and she accepted it smiling.
- I promise. Now, what is it? You know you can tell your godmother anything... - I told her the truth stroking her hair. Samantha has long blond. She's like a princess from some child's book. She's so kind and she's not spoiled. She likes to talk to people and she listens when you tell her "no". She is ten years old, she's not so little but she is still a child. Her twin brother is a different story, he is opposite of her.
- Well... There's a boy. Lucas. He goes to school with me. He always teases me, and chases me with bugs, shoots me with mud... But my friend said that he's in love with me...So I want to... This... I mean... - She started to nervously interlace her fingers and I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing. Ah, if my problems were as simple as hers. But in fact, there is no simple problem. She has never been aware of the real problems and this is the worst problem she ever had. And it's best to keep it that way as long as possible.
- Oh you like that boy. - I said it with a smile, knowing that I am right. Samantha looked at me dumbfounded and began to stutter.
- Well... No... Am... This... How do you know? -She finally gave up and just put her head down, hiding from me. How did I know? These tiny pink cheeks say it all.
- I guessed... - I shrugged and winked at her. She blushed even more and I kissed her cheek.
- I don't want to talk about it, I just wanted to know why is he so mean to me? - Now I have laughed out loud and Samantha sends me a warning look. Whoo... I better not anger her.
- Well... I can't explain why boys are like that, but they don't know how to express emotions like girls. So you should go easy on that boy, just tell him next time that he's hurting you and maybe he won't do mean things anymore. - She nodded but I can still see that she's thinking about it and I'm sure she didn't understand everything I said. It's okay, she will one day. Now I just figured da way to cheer her up.
