- You have to hide. - I whispered to Damien so Zachary won't be able to hear me since I'm still on a line with him.

- Why? - He asked me, and I just rolled my eyes.

- Because! I have a guest coming. Go to my room and don't go out! -

- Hmm. You may want to introduce me to a guest. And I heard it's just Zachary. - He smiled maliciously and I wanted to strangle him.

- You're the one who wanted to not let anyone know that you're here, and now you want Zachary to see you. He'll get the wrong idea and think that we're together. I don't want that. - I pulled him to his feet so that he's now standing in front of me.

- Yeah, yeah. You don't want me to ruin your chances with Zachary. I noticed your little flirting and messing around. - He has a smile on his face and he's looking me up and down.

- Damien stop it! First, we are not "messing around". Secondly, I'm not hoping for a relationship with Zachary I just don't want him to think badly of me. Now please go to the other room. - I said, whispering angrily.

- Yeah. Okay, Desiree. I STILL don't want to ruin your chances so I'll be in another room. - He said with a nod and left. I sigh with relief and walk to the front door. As soon as I opened the door I found myself face to face with smiling Zachary. Why did he have to complicate everything and come now?

- Thank you, I waited for quite a bit out there. Why couldn't you open the door immediately? - He asked with a smile, lifting his eyebrows. Agh, he's annoying me too. Is it too much to ask for a quiet day?

- Ha-ha. Very funny. Let's go in before I change my mind and send you on your way out of here. - Zachary only smiled and together we went into the living room.

- Well, Zachary. Can I get you something? Do you want coffee, juice, anything else? - I asked him and he just shrugged his shoulders.

- Coffee is okay, but only if it doesn't bother you. - He said with a jesting smile and I rolled my eyes.

- No, no. You're not bothering me. It will only take a second. -

- Yeah? You're such a great housewife. Everything smells and looks clean here, are you alone in this place? - I blushed at that compliment and walked into the kitchen but continued to talk to him from a different room as I made his coffee.

- I'm not living with anybody, but I do have help. My parents had a butler, his name is William, so I continued to hire him. He's like a family to me and he's the reason why everything is so clean here. I said as I handed him his cup.

- Thank you. - He looked at me strangely and I felt the discomfort from his eyes. I do not understand why is he chitchatting with me when he came here for business?

- So Desiree... How are you? - He asked me seriously, looking straight into my eyes.

- I'm good. I must say that I don't understand why you came? - I asked suspiciously and pursed my lips.

- I just wanted to see how are you handling things. Is everything okay with Damien? I hope he's not bothering you anymore. I know what he did was tough for you and it reminded you of some dark things. No woman should experience that... - My heart began to beat rapidly and I felt uneasiness. I do not like to talk about the past. If I wanted to do that I would have gone to a therapist.

- Hmm... As I have said already. I'm fine. And no need to mention it. - I want him to stop talking about it and I hope he gets the hint.

- I know. You seem fine but then again... I'm worried about you and he's immature and trusts me I can't stand him lately.
