Clan 7: Shiro Askura

Name: Askura Shiro (A-skoo-ra shee-roh)

Appearance: Shiro has long, black hair that falls to his mid-back. He has dark eyes, almost black in hue, and they stare intently at anyone who dares to look at him. His body is muscular and in shape from years of samurai training. A dozen small scars cover his body from fights, but none are particularly eye catching.

Weapon of choice: Katana and wakizashi

Personality: Shiro holds the values of bushido and family above all else. He's well-known for his honor and loyalty, but also his determination to do whatever he thinks needs to be done. To family or very close friends, he can be kind and compassionate, but to most he is seen as aloof and stern, occasionally cruel. He enjoys fighting and feeling important, but when faced with important decisions, he freezes. Shiro is a follower, and will complete any order given, but only if given by someone he respects.

Background: Shiro is the fourth son in a line of five sons and one daughter. His father was Katsu Askura, a samurai well-known for being ruthless. Shiro grew up learning about samurai and bushido, his only dream as a child of being just like his father. He accomplished his goal when became a samurai at 18, and now seeks to surpass his father's achievements.

Important side characters with them: His little sister, Taka who he has a soft spot for. His oldest brother Kohaku, and his father Katsu, both of whom he looks up to.

What influences their decisions in battle: He's strategic in his thinking, and tries to think of every possible outcome. He believes in killing others for a good cause, but also in an honorable death.

Additional information about their clan: The Askura clan is one of the oldest clans, and most known for being strategists. Shiro's father Katsu in particular was well-known for rarely losing battles.

Nobunaga Oda: "You are nothing but a follower, then? If the Askura clan is to keep from being lost to history, then let us all hope your skills in battle are far more interesting than you are."

Mitsuhide Akechi: "You have my respect as a fellow samurai. I swear that I will give you an honorable death should we meet in battle. I hope that you would do the same for me."

Hideyoshi Hashiba: "Askura-san, I'm sure that if you keep trying, you'll surpass your father one day. You've already come so far, so just keep trying!"

Magoichi Saika: "Soft spot for your sister, huh? Does that mean you'll let me show her a good time?"

Ishida Mitsunari: "The Askura clan is a formidable enemy. You are a samurai that I wish to meet in battle."
