A winter storm decimated the Takeda clan troops, and still they continued marching against Sachi Miyoshi. Her troops and entire clan had been affected by the storm as well, whose wall had collapsed from an earthquake. The Takeda clan stole Miyoshi uniforms and snuck inside the castle. Because of their cunning strategy, combined with the storm, they were able to take the Miyoshi clan castle. Sachi herself faced Jyubei Takeda himself in a furious battle, but Jyubei proved to be the stronger opponent. Sachi was cut down, and what little troops she had left fled. They were soon completely immersed into the Takeda clan and disappeared from the pages of history forever. The Takeda clan tried to recover, but fortunately they had little losses, although they lost one month's worth of supplies.
The battle of the Askura forces sieging the Imagawa spread throughout all of Japan. The Askura developed a cunning strategy to empty the Imagawa moat, giving his diggers a chance to dig beneath the walls. The Imagawa fought back in a fury, giving the Askura forces the fight of their lives. Hirotei and Shiro both locked in a battle that lasted for three hours, until both men collapsed from exhaustion. The Askura forces took Hirotei's main castle, but both clans suffered heavy losses and both lost one months of supplies. Hirotei escaped with his life, fleeing to another castle on the remote outlines of his clan's territory. Shiro Askura lost one of his ronin, fallen in battle against Hirotei's three.
Noaki Hojo seiged Setsuka Matsunaga's castle. In a sudden moment of utter genius, Naoki worked with a team of diggers and samurai to cause an avalanche. The avalanche trapped the Matsunaga forces inside, starving them for a whole month until they finally surrendered. Setsuka was taken prisoner, and days later Noaki had her executed as a traitor. The Matsunaga clan was immersed into the Hojo clan, and wiped from history forever. With his strategy, the Hojo clan suffered little losses.
Oka Mori attacked Toshihiro Ukita. An earthquake cut both of their numbers in half, leaving the Ukita main castle walls damaged. However, their samurai rallied behind their powerful diaymo, and were able to push back the Mori clan. After their losses in previous battles, the Mori clan scattered, immersing into the Ukita clan and wiped from history forever. The Ukita clan suffered heavy losses and half a month's supplies.
Yuudai Kato sieged Ren Sanada's main castle for an entire month. Both sides fought furiously and the battle almost came to a close draw once again. At last, the Kato forces pulled ahead, taking the Sanada main castle. As Ren and her brother and troops fled to the safety of another castle along their clan's border, it was believed that they managed to capture Yuudai himself. When the rumors were confirmed, it was discovered Yuudai had been kidnapped by someone else. Thus far, he lives and reports of his death haven't come yet. The Kato clan suffered heavy losses, and the Sanada clan lost one month of supplies, as well as their main castle.
All of Japan came to a standstill as rumors turned to truth of Nobunaga Oda attacking Kyou Asai head on. The battle lasted two long and grueling months. The Asai forces held their own against the Oda clan—utterly surprising the other remaining clans. At last, the Oda clan retreated at almost random, leaving both armies with heavy losses and neither with a win nor a loss.
Okay so I managed to get the scores up faster than what I thought (because so many people didn't hand in sadly—anymore and we might have to stop the competition) so I went ahead and graded Asai and my entries. To be fair to us both, I ended it in a draw. I will update the report if I hear back from everyone else (no one graded our entry, even though I posted a day earlier, still...).
Remember to keep track of how much supplies you've lost. It's directly mentioned several times.
Little losses means that you lost 200 soldiers.
Heavy losses means that you lost 1,300 soldiers. Keep track of this too.
Wins:
Clan 4: Jyubei Takeda—one month's supplies, little losses
Clan 7: Shiro Askura—heavy losses, one month supplies, one ronin dead
Clan 9: Noaki Hojo—little losses
Clan 15: Toshihiro Ukita—heavy losses, half month supplies
Clan 14: Yuudai Kato—heavy losses
Stalemate:
Clan 16 Nobunaga Oda verses Kyou Asai
Ren Sanada, please ignore my previous comments on the last chapter about capturing Yuudai Kato. His plans changed, so he's been kidnapped in his story line by someone else, so please ignore that! I thought I would mention it in this chapter so you knew for sure.
All of you comment any questions or confusion!
