Clan 14: Yuudia Kato

NAME: Yuudia (you-day) Kato

AGE: 21

GENDER: Male

APPEARANCE: Yuudai, has jet black hair that he puts into a ponytail in the back of his head. His black eyes are wider than a regular Japanese, but they're still squinted. (Sorry, not trying to be racist) He has caramel colored skin, proof that he's trained under the hot sun for countless hours. Despite him being six feet tall, he's strong, flexible and agile.

Weapons: Even though he usually uses his katana, (which he's named Sakura, after his sister) and wakizashi. He caries throwing knives, (kunai) and is also skilled with his yari, which is a pole that has a curved, swordlike blade on the end.

PERSONALITY: Yuudai is deliberate when it comes to battle tactics, but when he's made up his mind, it's on. He doesn't show much respect to very many people in terms of adding the suffix kun, chan and such. You first have to prove yourself worthy of his respect before he does any of that. The people that he does have respect for, have seen his loving and funny side, others however have only seen his strict, battle-born side that's always ready to kill whoever gets in his way. On the battlefield he's very confident and sarcastic, purposefully enraging his opponent before the fight starts.

BACKGROUND: Yuudai was the middle child of five. Yuudai's dad trained him and his siblings to be unstoppable killing machines at a young age. When they had reached near the end of their training however, father told them to do the impossible. He ordered them to fight to the death. He said that he couldn't live with himself if he raised weaklings. They refused and killed their father instead. In the fight though he lost his older sister. Afterwards most of them dispersed. His little brother, Ryo, stays by his side. Yuudai and his brother has since trained under his uncle, the diamyo of the Kato clan. Yuudai has, over the years risen through the ranks as his uncles right hand man. (Sorry for few feels, there will be plenty of them in the main plot ;)

IMPORTANT SIDE CHARACTERS: His little and older brothers Ryo and Kazuki are in the army with him.His youngest sister Sakura, is living with their mother at a noodle shop in a nearby village. His uncle Daiki is his diamyo. His friend Tadao has also been with him since the beginning.

INFLUENCES IN BATTLE: Yuudai usually stays back and studies his opponents before his fight, agitating them in the process. There are times though that he will charge into battle without thinking if his family or friends have been disgraced. Since he is a master with the yari and katana he will analyze his opponents in order to choose between the two to best counter his foe.

BELIEVES: Yuudai believes in the teaching of the cherry blossom as well as Bushido. He will do whatever he can to form a plan that doesn't involve a total massacre. As far as Bushido goes, as the next in line to be daimyo he needs to be a perfect picture for his fellow soldiers. But personally he respects Bushido to a certain extent. He will do whatever it takes to protect those he loves, regardless his convictions. To him, family and friends come first. That being said he would be a mixture of enraged and entertained by Magoichi's, love-for-the-money attitude.

ADDITIONAL INFO: The Kato clan is mostly rice farmers with thousands of acres of farmland. (or water) despite this, the Kato clan takes war very seriously, thinking of it more of as a cash-cow than a famine.

Nobunaga Oda: "Now here is a samurai who might be a challenge. The Kato clan have always been formidable warriors. I look forward to engaging you in battle."

Mitsuhide Akechi: "Your convictions, and your dedication to Bushido and the battlefield will make you a worthy adversary. I assure you, I will give you the honorable death that you deserve. I trust you would do the same for me."

Hideyoshi Hashiba: "What your father was going to do was absolutely horrible. But I believe you and your siblings made the right decision and had no other choice. I know you'll make a just diaymo someday, Kato-San."

Magoichi Saika: "If Sakura is as gorgeous as her name is, then I'll definitely have to show her a good time. I can't wait." 

Ishida Mitsunari: "Holding true to your beliefs is what will make you a grand diaymo, worthy of the title. Not many can say that."
