Here is a list of who is attacking who:
Yuudai Kato is attacking Ren Sanada
Toshihiro Ukita is attacking Hirotei Imagawa
Kairi Satio is attacking Noaki Hojo
Here then, is your third battle task:
If you're attacking, you have three enemy generals surrounded. You must make sure that they do not escape. You have the option to buy one of the following units to help you:
- Sohei warrior monks who wield ono (war axe or hatchet)
- Ninja who use tessen (war fans)
If you're defending, then you must rescue those generals before they are killed. You have the option to buy one of the following units to help you:
- Sohei warrior monks who wield naginata (polearm— a mixture between a sword and a spear)
- Ninja who use kanabo (long, thin dagger used for penetrating weak points in armor)
Whether you're attacking or defending, at the end of the battle, Nobunaga's forces show up, resulting in both the attacker and defender being forced to flee the battle.
Each unit costs 500 gold. You may only buy one of them.
Failing to include all the proper elements of this task, including location, opposing unit and Nobunaga coming at the end, forcing BOTH attacking and defending armies to flee, wil factor into who wins and who loses. BUYING UNITS IS OPTIONAL, so you don't have to, but having no units against someone who does also factors into who would win realistically speaking. Even if you choose not to buy one (or if you can't due to a penalty), your enemy must have one unit against you in your entry. Both sides may NOT have more than one unit.
YOU MAY NOT STATE WHO WINS THE BATTLE OR WHO LOSES. Many of you always imply this, BUT YOU CANT DO THAT. So don't do it. Lol.
Location: Forest
Due date:
October 16, 6pm central
Word count:
1,750
Penalties:
Ren and Hirotei, both of you have a word count of 1,250 due to a penalty and NEITHER OF YOU MAY BUY A UNIT.
Ren and Yuudai, because both of you failed to inform me of your supplies information before the deadline today, you both have a shorter deadline: October 14th, 3pm central.
FAILURE TO HAND IN WILL RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC LOSS.
Those of you who scored in 5th and 6th place of the overall rankings:
Nobunaga's forces have arrived early, but no messengers arrived to warn you. Because of this, Nobunaga's army has surrounded both you and the clan you're fighting, preventing escape for your soldiers. This leaves you with a choice. Do you flee with your highest ranking generals, leaving your men to die, or do you stay to fight, possibly ending in you being captured by the enemy, and even... your death?
Those of you who scored in 3rd to 4th place
If you're attacking, then one of the generals escaped, mortally wounding you and killing another you're close with. If you're defending, then while you were trying to rescue one of the generals, an enemy samurai (this can be whoever you want, even the diamyo of your enemy clan) killed the general, mortally wounding you and killing anyone who went with you to rescue the general.
Awards:
Those of you who scored in 2nd place
A messenger arrived, warning you of Nobunaga's forces in time. You can escape with your army, or come up with a plan to try to route him. Either way, you were warned and this could save a lot of lives, including your own.
Let the battles begin.
Good luck.
