I woke up and someone was holding my hand. I was turned my head, expecting to see Grayson.

I couldn't believe it.

"Mom?" I whispered.

She looked at me and started to cry.

"Oh. Are you okay?" She said. Her voice was dry.

"Yeah. I'm fine."

"I'm going get the doctor." She gave me a small smile and left the room.

As she left, Grayson came in.

"Glad to see you're okay."

I smiled as he looked down. He rubbed the back of his head. I looked at the chair next to me, signaling him to take a seat. He sat down and held my hand.

"Why did you come?" I asked him.

"I wanted to make sure you were okay. Everyone at school is worried about you. Even though they're kind of scared of you." He chuckled.

I saw a tear fall down his left cheek. I let go of his hand and ran my hand through his hair. He looked up and I saw his red eyes.

"It's okay." I whispered.

He was about to say something but the doctor and my mom came into the room. My mom stared at Grayson.

"Are you the boy who helped Bree?" She asked him. Grayson nodded. My mom pulled him into a tight hug and thanked him.

"I'll be outside." Then Grayson left the room.

"You are quite a mystery Bree. I have never seen anything like that before. Unlike I said before, I don't think you have multiple personality disorder. Something a bit worse that I can't really out my finger on." Dr. Henry said.

"Is she healthy enough to go home yet?" My mom asked him.

"Not quite yet. We still want to keep her overnight just to make sure she is okay. Is that young man outside your boyfriend?"

"No. He's just a good friend." I told him. I honestly didn't know what we were. I mean he came to visit me. He was the only one who was here. I needed to talk to him. About everything. About us.

"Um. He said he was going to wait outside right?" I asked the doctor.

"I'll go check." My mom told me. Then she left me with the doctor.

"Have you ever experienced that pain before?" He asked me.

I shook my head. "No. It was the first time."

He wrote something down on the clipboard. Grayson walked into the room again with my mom following him.

"Can I have some time alone with him?" I asked politely.

The doctor nodded and gestured for my mom to go out the door first. It was just me and Grayson now.

"We need to talk." I said as I sat up straight.

"About what?"

"Don't play dumb. How the hell did you know you could help me? How the hell did you even get here so fast? I was watching the news on tv and I saw you there not 5 minutes before... whatever that was." I explained.

"Well, the news footage wasn't live. I was here a good 30 minutes before what happened. And I didn't know I was going to help. I just wanted to give it a try. I calmed you down before. I just thought I could do it again."

He really did care about me.

"Can you get the card from over there?" I pointed to the things that was delivered for me. Grayson picked up the card and handed it to me.

I know I had decided to throw it away, but I thought to myself: if Grayson cared for me, maybe Forest did too.

I opened it, expecting a simple signature from Forest, but instead, I saw a whole bunch of little messages from the other students and some of the staff.

Why would they write messages to me? I brought a gun to school. I'm dangerous. I thought to myself.

I read through all of the notes.

"Did you not sign it?" I asked Grayson.

"No. I left a few minutes after the ambulance took you away. Who's it from?"

"Forest and some of the other students and staff." I smiled and Grayson smiled back.

We talked about random topics until the doctor came back in.

"Your mom would like to come in. Is that okay?" He asked.

I looked at Grayson and we nodded at each other. I turned back to Dr. Henry and nodded my head.

My mom came into the room and thanked Grayson one more time.

"So are you two dating?" She asked out of no where.

"Mom!" I yelled, embarrassed. I could feel my cheeks burn up.

"Sorry. I was just wondering."

"Um. No. We're just good friends." Grayson cut in.

Thank the lord...

My mom and I made small talk. I had never seen this caring and loving side of her in a long time. She noticed the flowers on the counter and picked them up.

"Who are these from?" She asked with a smile.

"Just some people from school."

I didn't want to mention Forest in front of her. I didn't know if she had seen the news report, but it didn't seem like she did so I just let it stay inside. Grayson got up from the chair and went to look at the flowers with my mom.

My mom handed it to him and as she placed the flowers in his hands, a black object fell from the bunch and onto the ground. Grayson handed the flowers back to my mom while he bent down to pick up the tiny object. His eyes widened. He walked to the window, opened it, and threw it outside.

"A bug?" I asked.

"No." He paused. "A video camera."
