"Um. Can I call you back later?" I asked Officer Kale.
"Sure. Actually. Why don't you come down to the station instead." He said.
"Of course. Thank you for calling."
"No problem." He hung up and I leaned back. I was laying on the bed sprawled out.
"Why would he do that?" I asked Gray, staring at the ceiling.
"I don't know, but what did the officer say."
"We have to go down to the station later. Is that okay?"
"Yeah sure."
"Cool." I said getting up. "I'm gonna take a shower and get changed."
I sat up and charged my phone and put it on the nightstand. I walked to my bag and took out some clothes. I was about to enter the bathroom when I turned around to see Gray still on my bed.
"Are you gonna stay there?" I chuckled.
"Yeah. I can wait." He smiled. I rolled my eyes and went into the bathroom and locked the door. Once I was done, I changed into a black loose fitting crop top with LA written in white and a pair of light blue skinny jeans. I dried my hair and didn't feel like doing anything special with it so I put it into a messy bun. There was a basket in the corner and I put my dirty clothes into it.
I opened the door and saw Gray still sitting on the bed on his phone.
"You look beautiful." He said looking up.
"Aw. Thanks." I laughed walking over to him and laid down on the bed. I stretched my arm over to grab my phone but I felt the bed move a bit. Before I knew it, Gray was on top of me.
He smiled and kissed me.
He broke the kiss and looked directly into my eyes. He gave a smirk and kissed me again. This time, more passionately. I kissed him back and placed my hand on the back of his neck, pulling him closer. His lips disappeared from mine and I opened my eyes. He took off his shirt, revealing his muscular and toned body. I felt his body back on mine and kissed him. His lips trailed my jaw line and down to my neck. Just before he was about to travel down any further, I flipped him over so that I was on top of him. He looked at me in surprise and I smirked. I placed my hands on his chest to keep him down. I moved my hands so that they cupped his face and I gave him a small kiss.
I looked him directly in his eyes. "Maybe later." He groaned as I grabbed my phone off the nightstand still on top of Gray. 6:30.
"We should get down to the station." I said, getting off of him. He sat up and put his shirt back on.
"I'll meet you at the door. I need to go upstairs and get my jacket."
"Okay." I said. He left the room and closed the door. I went over to my bag and took out my white nike windbreaker. I took my phone and put it into my pocket. I put on my black converse and went to the front door.
Mrs. Hunter appeared around the corner. "Where are you going?" She asked.
"The police found out who broke into my house and they want me down at the station to answer some questions." I explained.
"Bree. You ready?" Gray interrupted, coming down the stairs.
"Yeah." I responded.
"We'll be back later." Gray said to his mom. She gave him a smile and waved good bye. As the door closed, I heard Mrs. Hunter yell for Sage and Peyton.
We walked outside to the car and Gray opened the door for me. I got in and he went over to the drivers side. He started up the engine and we started driving.
"I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't---." He started.
"Don't be." I cut him off. "I mean. It was nice."
He chuckled. "Really?"
I put my hand on his lap and he held it. He lifted my hand and kissed it.
"Really." I looked and he looked back at me.
We laughed and I blasted the car radio. We sang along to some songs and it was great. We parked the car in front of the police station and got out.
I walked in front of Gray just so I could ask if I could speak to Officer Kale. The lady I talked to told me to have a seat and wait. I nodded my head and sat down. Gray sat next to me.
We sat for just about five minutes and an officer came out and introduced himself as Officer Kale.
"Nice to meet you." I said shaking his hand.
"Nice to meet you too." He said back. Gray also introduced himself. We followed him to his office where he told us to take a seat. The first thing he did was take out a file from his drawer and put it on the desk. We talked about my moms death and Forest.
"May I ask where your father is?" He asked as he looked through some of the papers. I felt my head spin a bit but Gray took my hand before it could get any worse.
"He was on the plane that crashed yesterday."
"Oh. I'm sorry about your loss."
I nodded and quickly changed the topic.
"So. You are positive that Forest is the one who robbed the house."
"We have multiple test to prove it." We all laughed.
After about 30 minutes of just talking about the situation, he said that he was going to have government officials take hold of my house.
"Why?" I asked concerned.
"It's just that we can't have you living on your own since you aren't technically an adult yet. You told me that your boyfriend has been letting you stay at his house. You can have the house back once you turn 18 and sign some papers." He explained.
I was perfectly fine with living with Gray for a little bit longer. It was only one and a half weeks until my birthday so it wouldn't be long.
"So that will be it. Do you two have any questions?"
Gray and I shook our heads and Officer Kale out the file back in the drawer he got it from. We shook each other's hands once again as we said good bye. He walked us to the exit and we thanked him for everything. Then we got back into the car and started driving back to the house.
"So... You know what you said earlier." Gray asked a little shy.
"What?" I asked him. I knew what he was talking about. I just wanted to see if he would actually say it out loud.
"After you stopped our little thing. You said 'maybe later'. Well, it's later."
I laughed. "Why not?"
"Yes!" He exclaimed. He started to drive a little faster, eager to get back to the house. Soon we were going 40 mph in a 20 mph limit area. I was getting concerned.
"Gray slow down." I said.
"It's fine. No one is out at..." He looked down at his phone. "7:20"
"Everyone is out at 7:20! It's the time where people go out to eat!" I argued. He looked at me and started yelling back but I was looking at the road.
My eyes widened as a family started crossing the street.
"Gray STOP!"
He looked up and slammed on the brakes.
