Y/n POV

I woke up from a loud crash coming from downstairs. I look over at the clock and see it reads 2:30 am. It must be my boyfriend Hayes, he has a drinking problem and I've tried to talk to him about it, but he won't listen.

I get out of bed, grab a baseball bat from the closet just in case it isn't Hayes, and make my way down stairs. I step on the last step and see Hayes stumble to the couch and fall onto it.

I sigh and put the bat down. I walk over to him to see if he's okay.

"Hayes", I say trying to get him up.

He just answers with a groan.

" Hayes, baby, sit up so I can get you something to eat",I say. He sits up and leans his head on the back of the couch.

I walk into the kitchen and make him a huge sandwich to soak up the alcohol, I grab a glass and out some milk in it. I take the food to him and watch him while he eats it, making sure he finishes it all.

Once he's done I take his plate and put it in the sink, then go back to him and sit beside him. I can see hes sobered up. He goes to hug me but I push him away.

He looks at me with a worried expression and sits up more.

"What's wrong?", he asks with concern in his voice. I grab his hand and play with his fingers.

"Hayes, I don't know if I can do this anymore", I say.

"Do what? Come on baby, talk to me", he says grabbing my hand and holding it.

"I can't handle you coming home dunk every night", you pause pulling your hand from his," I can't talk to you becuase you can't actually form coherent sentences half the time. You don't remember anything we do. I never see you and when I do your always tired and want to go to bed",I say with tears running down my face.

"So are you saying you want to break up?" Hayes says, his voice cracking.

I shrug my shoulders and let out a sob.

"No. I'm not letting you go, please I'll do anything. I'll dump all the alcohol down the drain. I'll go to rehab. Please baby. Please let me stay", he sobs into my shoulder.

"Hayes look at me", I say pulling his head up to meet mine. His eyes look sorrowful and defeated. He really is scared of losing me.

"This is your last chance. If this keeps going on I'm done", I say sternly, trying to get the point across.

He sighs really big and wraps me in a bone-crushing hug. I hug him back and we cry relief into each other's shoulder.

Hayes kept his promise. He has been sober for four years. At first it was miserable, always seeing him sad. But he got through it, and I helped him as much as I could. Now we can live happily together.
