Marie's POV

So that day wasn't much, we didn't even get out of the RV. I sat in the passengers seat as Calum told me stories, once he got tired I picked up a book and read to him. At around 3 I took that nap, when I woke up we stopped at this Vietnamese restaurant and I treated Cal to one of my favorites. Later that night we just fell asleep at around 10 and here we are the next morning.

I carefully lifted his hands off my body to go brush my teeth and pee, the bathroom situation is gonna be the only thing i'll hate about this week. Once that was all done, I headed over to the kitchen and started looking through the cabinets, but hands wrapped around my waist, pulling me towards a warm body.

"Good mornin" Calum greeted pressing his lips to my cheeks over and over again, I giggled, "Good morning, Calum" I said to him.

"What are you doing?"

"Oh just looking for breakfast" I said not being able to stop smiling, for some reason that worried me. "Oh yeah, I didn't bring any food but those chips that we finished yesterday. But I have some friends about 7 minutes from here that wanna meet you, i'm sure they have food."

"Calum, where are we?" I asked him as we walked down the strangely quiet streets of a neighborhood somewhere in Sydney.  The streets were very uncared for, cracks in the sidewalks, potholes in the road. The houses weren't in the best shape either.

"We're seeing some family of mine" He told me and I immediately looked down at my outfit.

"I look like a mess, I can't meet your family" I said but he shook his head, "you look beautiful, here's the house" He pointed and directed me into a sharp turn. I carefully stepped up,  and opened the glass divider, revealing the actual door and knocking. The house had spider webs and it's white wooden boards were covered in chipped paint and vines.

I heard footsteps getting louder and louder and a face popped in the window, I jumped but the face grew from angry to happy. It was a child. The door flew opened next and Cal opened the glass divider before the child wrapped himself around his legs. "Uncle Cal!" He exclaimed. I grabbed a hold of the glass divider keeping it from closing on the childs skinny legs.

"Hey buddy, let's step inside." Cal rubbed his back taking the door from me and gesturing me in. I kept a fake smile on my face while walking in. My eyes moved around the room which I assumed was the living room, it looked much like the outside of the house. African art was plastered all over the walls, paintings, quotes, vases.

"Mommy! Daddy! Uncle Cal is here!" The small boy exclaimed and out came a woman from the kitchen. She was about my height, plump, with short blonde hair. "Calum!" She smiled embracing him in a big hug, rocking back and forth. At that, another man came out from the same place. A little taller than Calum, plump, with his black hair in a buzz cut and dark skin.

The dad was also super happy to see him, bringing him also into a big hug. No one seemed to be noticing the girl standing beside him (me) but I just stood quietly and smiled, what else could I do?

"Sit down, sit down!" The mom said and I did so, sweeping the end of my black sundress under my legs.

"So, who is this?" The dad asked finally. "Oh, Jay. This is my beautiful," Calum grabbed my hand interlacing our fingers "girlfriend Marie. Marie this was my former soccer coach Jay and his wife Lucy" he introduced us.

"Awe, you guys are adorable, you remind me of Jay and I when we first met." Lucy smiled, she seemed very sweet. Like a lifetime mother.

"How did you meet?" Jay asked.

Calum squeezed my hand, hinting for me to answer. "Oh, I was riding my skateboard down the street one day and I fell, face first onto his lawn at the exact moment he opened the door to get the newspapers" I answered and they chuckled.

"That's like the things you see in movies, you guys were meant to be. That's so rare." Jay said chuckling.

"Oh trust me Marie, you're in great hands. Calum is an angel. Let me go get the breakfast, Jay give me a hand" Lucy said I smiled at her also laughing slightly as they walked into the kitchen. SUCK IT, EVA.

Calum moved his hand to my thigh, "this is fun" i said to him and she smiled. "I'm glad you think so" he responded kissing me softly.

"Ewww" the little boy said out of no where. I looked over the where the boy sat, on a mat playing with some toy cars, we laughed.

"So, when are you two getting married?" The little boy asked, coming closer I Calum and sitting on his lap.

"Tomorrow" he joked.

"Great, can I be the ring bear?"

"You got it, kiddo" Calum smiled rubbing the little boys head before he came over to me.

"Do you want some chocolate?" He asked randomly and I nodded. The boy sprinted in the other direction and to where his parents were. I turned my head and smiled to Calum, he leaned over and gave me a big kiss on the cheek.

I wasn't able to stop smiling when I was around him and it was beginning to scare me, what if I was in love? I mean, that's not really a bad thing but what about my plans? What about N.Y.U.? at the end of the summer when I have to leave will I just be like "thanks for wasting 2 months and 1 grand on tryna get me to turn my life around but i think i'll pass, bye bitch"

Was getting involved with him the right choice?
