"I know that I am nice to you, but why do you want to meet me so badly?" Yeri asked the man. "I don't even know your name."
"Jeon Jungkook." He said without stuttering. Of course he wouldn't stutter. He just said his name. "Is that all you need to know?"
"Of course not." Yeri muttered. "What kind of person meets someone that they only talk over the phone?"
"A lot of people, actually." Jungkook seemed to point out.
Yeri acknowledged that it wasn't the best argument that she could've offered but she still didn't want to meet him. He's only called every day for a week. The only client that Yeri would think about meeting would be Jinki, and she had been talking to him for over a year.
"You never told me why you want to meet me so badly." Yeri pointed out.
                              "Do I need a reason?"
"I would like to know." Yeri said.
"It will probably scare you off."
"Then maybe you shouldn't tell me and forget about meeting me."
                              Jungkook sighed. "I guess so."
"For the past week you have called and you still haven't told me any concerns." Yeri said, trying to get things back on track.
"That's right." Jungkook said, Yeri imagined him suddenly having a smile on his face.
"I am making a new girl group and I'm having a hard time with it." Jungkook said with his voice cowering.
"A new girl group?" Yeri said, sitting up a little in her chair. "Like an idol group?"
"Yeah." Jungkook said and let out a small laugh. "It may seem stupid but I'm actually a talent scout."
"That's not stupid." Yeri whispered, old memories of training at SM Entertainment flooding her head.
Yeri tuned out of whatever Jungkook was saying. She remembered the times of being at SM and waiting to be put into a girl group, but never having the chance. When Yeri could tell that she wasn't going to have a chance, she decided to leave the agency with Koeun. Koeun still hadn't forgiven her for leaving, but she knew that Yeri wouldn't have them leave without any reason.
"Yeri?" Jungkook asked, snapping Yeri out of her daze.
"Yeah?" Yeri said, trying to shake the memories out of her head.
                              "I asked you a question."
"I'm sorry, but could you repeat it?"
Jungkook let out a soft laugh that made Yeri feel even worse that she wasn't entirely paying attention to him. "I asked if you think that I should do with the girl group. My company wants an 8-membered girl group but we only have 6 that are ready to debut. How am I supposed to find 2 new girls to add into this group without taking too long of a time?"
Yeri automatically closed her eyes. She saw a man scouting new girls for the company, which she assumed was Jungkook. Next, she saw 2 girls come into a room, being introduced to 6 other girls.
"Keep on scouting out girls." Yeri said with confidence. "You will find those 2 girls fairly easily if you keep working hard."
Jungkook seemed to scoff. "Is this just something to make me work harder?"
"Take my vision to your liking, but you asked what you should do and I told you." Yeri said, becoming a bit bitter that he would take her advice so lightly. "If there are any other concerns..."
"I have nothing else." Jungkook knew that he had insulted Yeri.
"Goodbye then." Yeri said, hanging up the phone without hearing anything else from Jungkook.
                              --
"Thank goodness you are here, Koeun." Yeri said with relief in her voice. Koeun nodded, hugging her without any hesitation.
"Did you already order some coffee?" Koeun asked, glancing at the baristas in the café.
Yeri nodded and grabbed Koeun's hands that were on the table. "I had the worst day."
                              "Spill." Koeun said without hesitation.
Yeri sighed and looked at the table. "Jungkook called me again."
"The one who was friends with Jimin?" Koeun asked. Yeri nodded in conformation, realizing that she barely learned Jungkook's name the same day.
"He finally asked for some advice and after I told him what would happen, he almost made fun of me." Yeri said, the same feeling of hurt coming back.
"What an ass." Koeun said, shaking her head. "He clearly doesn't know who he was talking to."
Yeri simply nodded. At that moment, their coffees arrived and Yeri tossed back the black coffee in a second. Koeun wasn't shocked by this, since Yeri always seemed to do this when she was upset.
"I'm glad that we are just drinking coffee today." Koeun said. "I have been battling a hangover all day."
"You and me both." Yeri said and the two giggled.
"Koeun! You are up in two minutes." A male voice hollered from the other side of the café.
Koeun smiled and nodded. "You've got it, Jonghyun."
Yeri looked over and waved at Jonghyun, who was cleaning a coffee cup. He offered her a sweet smile.
Koeun took a chug from her own coffee and stood up. "Well, I better get ready."
"Do great up there!" Yeri said.
"Will do." Koeun said and walked from the table.
Yeri pulled out her phone and prepared for recording Koeun's performance like she did every night that Koeun performed. Koeun insisted on Yeri recording all of her performances so that she can watch them later and see what she could improve on.
Within a few seconds, Koeun was playing the guitar and singing while Jonghyun was sitting on a square prism that he tapped on to make a subtle beat.
Koeun's voice captured the whole café, owning the whole performance without a single issue. Koeun started her second song when Yeri felt a tap on her shoulder.
Yeri put away her phone and looked up to see a man with dark hair and a strong bone structure, give her a smile that made him look years younger.
The man pointed at Koeun. "Is that your friend over there?"
Yeri nodded, glancing at Koeun and then looked back to the man. "Why?" She asked, her voice trailing into nothingness.
The man smiled even larger and reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. "I'm a scout from Jellyfish Entertainment, and I am interested in signing you and your friend into becoming trainees."
Yeri stared blankly at the man. "What?"
The man opened his wallet and pulled out a card. "Here, this is my information."
Yeri took the card and stared blankly at it. This was impossible.
"I swear that I'm not just some creepy guy, preying on young women like you two." He said, letting out a small laugh with his comment.
But Yeri couldn't laugh. The only thing that she could see on the card was the name that headlined it.
                              Jeon Jungkook.
