We were walking back towards the awaiting limo, one of the lights in the dark car park flickering, casting eerie shadows across the walls.
I kept close to the group, the sinister feeling of being watched sending shivers down my spine. Something felt off, I just couldn't put my finger on it.
I glanced round, zoning out from the boys babble. Nothing but empty cars met my gaze. Everything was normal, but quiet. The kind of quiet that waits, listens.
On cue, someone's phone started ringing. The loud warble put my teeth on edge. If it had rung at any other time, it would be fine, but in this dark car park it felt like we were walking through a horror film, and the killer was ringing to let us know we were his target.
"Hello?" Simon said, holding his phone up to his ear. He looked extremely confused, glancing round the group in bewilderment.
"Who is it?" Ethan asked, looking up to the taller boy. Simon shrugged, still holding the silver phone to his ear. Suddenly, his expression darkened, a scowl spreading across his face. He must've found out who was calling, and he wasn't happy about it.
"How the fuck did you get this number?" Simon demanded angrily, his spare hand resting on his hip. Whoever was on the other end of the phone sure was riling him up.
"No, don't even answer that." He snapped, groaning angrily.
"Who is it?" Ethan repeated, the whole group now keenly watching Simon. We had stopped walking, all attention on Simons' phone call.
"It's Hannah." Simon replied bitterly. Based of the reactions of the boys, mainly surprised gasps followed by looks of anger I figured this Hannah girl was trouble.
"Look, if you call me again, I will seriously go to the police. Got it?" Simon threatened, his voice laced with venom. Boy, he hated this girl.
I hung awkwardly at the back, feeling like I was intruding on something that was very personal. A part of me wanted to know what was going on, but I wasn't going to intrude on the seemingly private situation.
"No you don't." Simon suddenly snarled in a defensive manner. He turned to look at me, his blue eyes worried. I took a step back, nervous. Why was he looking at me all of a sudden? The boys looked between Simon and myself, sheer confusion flooding the air.
"You leave her out of this." Simon snapped angrily into the phone, watching me intently. Was he talking about me?
"I swear; if you try anything, you will be locked up." Simon growled, hanging up the call.
The car park fell eerily silent once more as Simon stashed his phone back away, shaking his head.
" What did Hannah say?" Josh asked.
Simon shook his head with an angry sigh.
" Up to the usual shit?" JJ asked, his voice full of hate. Wow, what had this girl done to anger the boys so much?
"Guys?" I asked, my voice hesitant. They all looked to me, dark expressions softening. I originally hadn't wanted to intrude, but the way Simon looked at me when he said not to involve me made me change my mind.
"Who is Hannah?" I asked carefully, unsure if I was pushing boundaries with the question. Simon sighed again; making it obvious it was a touchy subject for him.
" Just a crazy fan who has been causing me problems for a while now. You don't have to worry though." He said, gently patting my shoulder. Did people really get that bad? None of Rory and I's fans were quite so resourceful.
