| Say You Won't Let Go - James Arthur |
Simon:
How badly I had wanted to punch that idiot in the face. I had wanted even more to wrap my arms around Lucy and shield her from anything the prick could do.
I know she pretending that Jacksons sudden appearance didn't impact her, but I knew Lucy. Like the back of my own hand.
And she was hurting.
It was hurting me to see her hurting, and I didn't know what to do about it. I could comfort her as a friend, but there was only so much friends could actually do.
I wanted to do more.
I was getting tired of watching her struggle through so many challenges. Selfish brothers. Injuries. Pricks who couldn't keep their hands to themselves.
She didn't deserve any of that pain. Lucy deserved even more than that, and by god I was going to make sure she did.
If only I wasn't as cautious, as scared when it came to Lucy. I knew I was into her, if only the huge leap of faith before me wasn't as terrifying.
Perhaps the city of dreams would give me strength to move forwards. All my other trips to LA I had branched out and stepped out of my comfort zone, so this could be my chance. My chance to say things, take actions I should've made long ago.
"Lucy, its weird to stare at the wall grinning." Tobis sudden voice snapped me from my thoughts, and I looked up to find Lucy also appearing to be pulled from her thoughts.
"I was not!" The tips of Lucy's ears were tinged pink at being caught. It was incredibly cute.
"You were, and I have pictures to prove it!" Tobi giggled, waving his phone in Lucy's wide eyes. Realizing I might be caught watching the pair, or more specifically a currently blushing red headed girl, I coughed before shifting slightly in my seat so I was looking at her from the corner of my eye.
Lucy had risen to her feet from the bean bag she had fallen into to squint at Tobis phone.
"Oh my days! These are gross!" She giggled, zooming in on whatever picture Tobi had taken.
"You were definitely ready for it." Tobi laughed, his hand resting on his knee.
"Odds on you making this your twitter profile?"
Typical of Lucy to make a joke out of such a thing.
"Out of what?" Tobi asked, the pair of them sizing each other up competitively.
Lucy rubbed at her chin, mocking deep thought. Just the sight of her cheeky smirk made my heart rate increase. If only she knew how easily she got my pulse racing....
"Three." Lucys voice was filled with confidence.
"No way bro!" Tobi shook his head before moving towards me. I coughed again, pretending to be scrolling through twitter on my phone as my shorter friend threw himself onto the other side of the couch.
"What were you even thinking about?" Tobi called as Lucy made herself comfortable once more in her beanbag.
"How much you guys all mean to me." A small smile played on her lips as her eyes slowly drifted back to the wall she had previously been so transfixed on.
Lost in her thoughts once more, I found myself wishing I was lost in that beautiful mind with her.
Lucy:
"Si?" I knocked cautiously on his door, hoping he wasn't in the middle of recording a video. It was almost half past one, the usual time the guys recorded, but I couldn't hear any voices.
