| The Sound - The 1975|
The boy who had caused so many problems for my relationships was smirking down at the three of us. What was he doing here? Where had he come from?
My initial shock unfortunately left me rather tongue tied, and I was lucky Simon was quicker to get over the sudden appearance of Jackson.
"Jog on." Simon snapped angrily, his leg tensing against mine.
"Huh?" Cal seemed slightly confused. While I had told him all about Jackson, he didn't actually know who he was. What he looked like. So of course he would be confused when a total stranger appeared, rendering myself speechless and making Simon turn into attack mode.
"I can't, actually." Jackson said smugly. I gulped, each second he stood before me making my blood go colder and colder.
His eyes were sparkling with chilling mischief as he grinned down at me, perfectly manicured eyebrows slightly raised.
"I believe this is my seat." Jackson declared, pointing at the spare seat beside Cal.
"No it's not." Simon scoffed as Cal continued to look ever confused.
"You're right, Simon. Lucy is in my seat." He glanced at his ticket. "According to this, but I would be happy to just sit here." I watched in horror as Jackson took the seat opposite me, lazily smirking at Simon. Simons jaw was jumping as he clenched his teeth, his hands curling into fists. I momentarily became worried about the phone in Simons clutch. He looked like he was going to bend it, and the iPhone 7 would be pretty ridiculous to replace. Cal glanced between the three of us in confusion as I purposely avoided Jacksons gaze, pushing down all the bad feelings that came with Jacksons' presence.
Do not show how he affected you. Do not show how he affected you. Do not show how he affected you.
"Luuuucy." Oh god, the devil was talking to me.
"You have a lot of balls coming here." Simon snarled; his eyes narrowed at Jackson.
"You flatter me, Simon." Jackson smirked.
"I don't want to be rude, but who the hell are you?" Cal interjected, his body half turned to Jackson. He looked like he was on the verge of being defensive. Jackson was filling the small compartment with bad vibes as he raised an eyebrow at Cal.
"Jackson, and you are?"
Cal's mouth opened and closed in shock, his eyes darting between everyone.
"Dude, you can't be in here." He finally said, slowly getting up.
"Well, everywhere else is full, and this is my allocated seat." Jackson flashed his ticket at the defensive Cal.
"So, unfortunately you're stuck with me." Jackson continued with a smug shrug.
"Cal, just sit down." I pleaded, my voice sounding stronger than I felt.
Reluctantly, Cal lowered himself back into his seat, putting as much distance between himself and the smirking boy as possible.
Jackson looked beyond content, as if the world had been served to him on a silver plate. How I wished devils were allergic to the precious metallic substance.
"I haven't seen you for a while, Lucy. What's been going on?" Jackson cooed. Like he ever cared.
"Shut up, Jackson." Simon snapped, immediately coming to my defense.
"Am I not allowed to make conversation?" Jackson asked, his face falling. Boy, he was a good actor.
"Not to her, you're not." Simon growled, the rattling of the train increasing as we passed over a bridge.
