| All I want - The Kodaline |
Simon:
"I'm going to need to sort Rory out." I declared.
I had been pacing up and down in the lounge for almost half an hour after Lucy had disappeared upstairs. Part of me wanted to head up to comfort her, but I felt like she just wanted some alone time for a while. I'd check on her later.
"Uhh, why?" Vik asked, confused by my anger. I stopped walking, my hand resting on my chin. These guys had no idea how much of a dick Rory had just been.
"I called him, to get him to come here." I explained, standing before my friends.
"Lucy's been having a hard time lately, and I thought Rory could make her feel better." The guys nodded in agreement. Lucy's stress and slight depression hadn't gone unnoticed. She was struggling, and we could all see it.
"I told him he needed to spend time with his sister, but he obviously just had other plans." I continued, hoping Lucy wouldn't overhear us talking.
"His girlfriend was pretty hot." JJ interjected. Oh my. Of course JJ would be the one to comment such a thing.
"Shut up JJ." Josh mothered.
"He'll come around." Harry said.
"Did you guys not see how much that messed her up?" I demanded irritably. Where these guys blind or something? Lucy and Rory were incredibly close, even for twins. So for him to show up like that, only to leave with Melissa, would have been crushing for Lucy. Her own brother was choosing to spend time with someone over her.
"We're all worried about her Simon." Josh said, trying to calm me down.
I sighed angrily. All I wanted was for Lucy to be happy. I thought the arrival of her brother would work, but it appeared to have a hugely negative effect."Simon, it'll be fine man." JJ offered. The guys all held looks of worry and pity, but I wasn't sure they really understood. Rory meant everything to Lucy. He shouldn't be treating his own sister like she was nothing.
"I'm going to go record a video." I declared, needing a excuse to leave the guys to go check on Lucy. Not waiting for a reply, I twisted on my heel and headed straight for the stairs. I didn't miss the voices behind me talking as I left.
"Didn't he finish all his videos for today?"
"Does he have something against Rory?"
Their hushed words made me even angrier, but I let it slide. I wasn't angry with them. I was angry with Rory. On Lucy's behalf.
I climbed the steps towards Lucy, muttering to myself. The guys had no clue.
I almost stumbled as I reached the stair top, fumbling in the dark for the light switch. Why had Lucy left the lights off? I turned the light on, realizing Lucy's bedroom was shut. I hesitated before the door.
Would she think it was strange, me coming into her room to check if she's okay? I shook my head. What a stupid question. When had anything ever stopped me from checking on Lucy? I cautiously pushed open Lucy's door, freezing when it creaked in protest. I waited a moment or two before opening her door further, till I could peer into her dark room. I was surprised to find Lucy fast asleep; her arms wrapped around one of her pillows in a tight embrace. Her hair was splayed out over her shoulders, wild and curly. Why hadn't she put it up? Whenever she slept with her hair out, she always got bad knots. Wait what? Why on Earth did I know that? I whacked myself on the forehead in an attempt to sort myself out. I had been thinking and doing strange things lately. Well, stranger than normal that is.
