| You Found Me - The Fray|
I glanced at my phone, a smile creeping into my face. Thank god Simon was replying in decent time today. It was making the train ride a bit more bearable. I didn't like the idea of shooting through the underground in a metal death trap. Underground trains just didn't do it for me.
I had texted Simon almost immediately after leaving the house. I had felt like he needed to know that I was finally out of my dark place. I wasn't going to let Rory never coming back keep me down.
I'm not sure where our conversation was going, or how it had even gotten to this point, but I found myself explaining my dads roots to Simon.
White boy: You're not 100% Scottish
Me: stats weren't my best subject, Si and dads from Scotland, so it makes me at least part Scot💁
White boy: 50%
Me: I have his genes to thank for my hair and inability to tan
White boy: Hahahaha😂
Me: The struggles of being a ranga
White boy: Rannnnnggggggaaaaa
Me: 🔥
White boy: Sucks to be you
Me: it's actually quite enjoyable, bc during winter while you all have cold heads I'm sweet💁🔥
Me: why am I roasting myself?😂
White boy: because you're🔥 and that's hot so you're roasting yourself😂
I frowned at my phone, confused. Sometimes Simon's texts made little sense, and this was one of those times. After a moment, I worked it out and chuckled.
White boy: you're a walking oven😉😂
I rolled my eyes, giggling. In my 21 years of being a ginger, I had never heard that one before. I gave him extra points for creativity.
I was about to type him a reply, when a shiver ran over my body. I looked up, glancing around the train. It was packed with people, kids going home from school, business people with their suitcases, old ladies clutching bags tightly. The hairs on the back of my neck rose, and I couldn't shake the feeling I was being watched. I continued to look around the carriage, the unsettling feeling growing.
My nerves were taught as my phone started ringing, Harry's face appearing on the screen.
"Hello?" I answered, voice shaking slightly.
"Where are you?" Harry answered,
"And are you alright, you sound off?" He added.
"I'll explain later," I started, cautiously looking around again. Why did I feel like something bad was about to happen?
"And I'm on the train."
"You're going to the mall now right?" Harry asked, his voice muffled slightly.
"I am - how'd yo-"
"Simon told me." Harry cut me off.
"Oh, well I am heading there."
"Alright if I meet you there?" Harry asked hopefully.
"Of course!" I laughed, trying to shake of the uneasiness.
"Good because I haven't seen you in ages." Harry said.
"Harry?"
"Yes?"
