~Shihiro~
It's been a few days since my journey started and let me tell you, being this 'kizoku' is getting on my nerves. It's like I'm a fucking Mary Sue in some cheesy anime. Really, how can a demon try to kill you but the second they see the bracelet, they fall to their knees and beg for affection. All of those demons are either dead or off doing an impossible mission but that's not the point.
One of the demons even kill my horse! How am I going to explain that to keade!
I had to stop at the nearest village to see if they could lend me a horse. They didn't have a horse for me. But! They noticed my bracelet and told me that there was a shrine a couple days west where a monk lives. Apparently the monk knows a lot about the kizoku.
And that's about all that has happened for now. Well, that and the villagers didn't inform me of one little thing....
"HOW AM I GOING TO CROSS A RUSHING RIVER IF I CANT SWIM?!?" I screeched, stomping my foot angrily.
Right in front of me was a river about 40 feet wide with tides that could match Niagara Falls. And on the other side of the river, I see the path to the shrine.
"Is there a bridge anywhere? Or a boat?" I scanned the area, perking up when I saw some boulders in the water that could be used as stepping stones.
"There we go!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"Ok. Easy. Easy. I am as steady as.......something really steady" I mumbled, trying to distract myself from the water under me. I slowly made my way over the Boulders.
I gasped as the one I was on shifted, making me fall into the water.
I tried to keep my head above water, flailing my arms around in attempt to swim. The water was so strong it pulled me under and I fell a sting hit on the back of my head.
'It's getting harder to breathe......my head is throbbing, I think I'm bleeding....'
I weakly attempted to swim again only to be swept into darkness.
"Will he wake up kagura?""I don't know. If he's dead I could just put the shard in him and revive him like naraku did to you"
"I guess you're right"
"tch"
I twitched, feeling solid ground under me.
'where am I? I was.... drowning. But. How did I get in the water? Why was I near the water? There are people speaking near me. Do I know them?'
It was a struggle to open my eyes, but when I did I saw the night sky already filled with many stars.
"he's awake!" A voice to my right, cheered.
"finally"
I turned my head just a bit to see who was there.
A young boy wearing a familiar kind of armor 'where have I seen that armor?'
Next to him was a beautiful woman, hiding half of her fan with a fan.
"I told you to be careful when crossing the river kurama" The boy spoke, helping me sit up.
"Kurama? Who's that" I murmured, coughing softly from the burning in my lungs.
"It's your name" The woman scoffed.
"That's not my name. It's......"I paused, frowning a bit "what is my name......?"
The woman sighed "I guess you hit your head a bit too hard. Kohaku. help him while I set up camp"
I looked at the boy "your name's kohaku? That's a nice name"
Kohaku smiled "thank you. though you've known my name. I'm guessing you lost some of your memories when your hit your head"
I reached up and touched my head, wincing as feeling a severe pain shoot through my brain making y skin crawl.
"ow...."
Kohaku nodded "since you lost your memory. I'll help you remember some things. so, ask away"
He watched me expectantly as I shifted my body to get comfortable "well. I'll start with my name. What is my name?"
"your name is kurama kizoku"
I frowned 'Is that really my name? It doesn't sound familiar....'
"ok....where are we?"
"we are between the boarders of the western and southern lands"
"who was that woman?"
"she is kagura. She's a wind sorceress"
"and who are you both to me?"
"we are your protectors. only when you are away from your husband"
I blinked astonished "my....husband?"
He nodded "yes. you two have recently gotten married"
I rubbed my head, trying to sooth the throbbing in my brain "what's his name?"
"naraku"
