The doorbell rang.

"I'll get it Mum." She nodded, trying to come to terms with what she just learned. I quickly ran over and answered it. A tall woman, with short brown hair, almost in a bob, she was beautiful.

"Hi, can I help you?"

"It's Nina, right?" I slowly nodded.

"I'm Scarlett's Mum."

"Oh my god..." I was meant to say that in my head.

"Is there something wrong?"

"No..nonono, of course not. I just didn't think you would be as lovely as this, uhm, do you wanna come in?"

"Sure, I'd love that." I opened the door and she came in. "You know, Scarlett has told me a lot about you, she said you were a lovely girl and..." She froze.

"Sorry, the house is a mess, two teenage girls, I guess that's wh..."

"Stephanie?" I quickly looked at my Mum and my Mum spun around at her name being called.

"Melanie..it's..you."

"It's been so..so long." Melanie, Scarlett's Mum, ran up to my Mum and hugged her.

"There are so many..things I've wanted to talk about."

"Nina and I will go upstairs and let you guys talk." I spun around and looked at Selena.

"Oh no, it's cool Selena. I'll just chill here." Her eyes widened and she looked at with her 'get upstairs you idiot' face.

"Oh right, yeah we'll go..do..sister stuff like talk and hate each other. Nice to meet you Melanie!" She smiled and nodded. Selena and I ran upstairs.

"Don't you think it's really weird that Mum never mentioned any of this?" I wandered around my room. Selena was lying on my bed.

"Why would she? It's old news, high school history."

"Yeah but, to even think she had like other guys before dad. She always told me he was her first love."

"It was a crush Nina, not a Romeo and Juliet romance." I looked at her.

"Who are you texting anyway? You've been glued to your phone all day." She quickly looked up and glared at me.

"No one, none of your business." She snapped at me.

"Woah okay, mrs Snappy. Whatever." I fell onto my chair.

"Do you have..uh Scarlett on facebook?"

"Yeah why?" Selena jumped up and quickly walked over.

"Go on it." I went on facebook and looked at her page. 

"What is it?" 

"Just, just move." She pushed the chair over so I ended up over beside my wardrobe. I quickly jumped off my seat and looked at.

"Mum told me that guys name, I just wanted to ch...holy shit."

"What? What is it?" I looked closer to see that Scarlett's Dad was listed as Hugh and Selena grabbed me and spun me around to look at her before I could look at the last name.

"Scarlett's Mum married that guy! ..From Mum's high school!!" 

"Woah holy crap, what?!?"
