I woke up smiled brightly thinking of Alice. I swung my legs off the bed and quickly got dressed. I walked outside into the living room to see Alice looking through one of the books she had recieved from the witches. She was wearing beige short shorts and a baggy t-shirt.
Elijah sat across from her reading intently. His eyes wandered to Alice's slender form every now in then but she didn't even acknowledge my older brother. Poor chap. He doesn't even realize what he's done. Ahh but he deserved every last excrutiating moment for trying to destroy our love. Did I just admit to being in love with Alice? I think I did.
I smiled at that as I watched Alice from the door way of my room. She raised her hand and fliched her wrist. My door swung shut making me jump forward in surprise. She chuckled before giving me a wry smile and returning to her work. My brother laughed glancing from Alice to myself. He raised an eyebrow at me as if to ask 'What are you going to do about that brother?'
"Morning Love." I said walking to Alice. She looked up and smiled kindly. "Morning." I sat down beside her and watched as she worked. "Are you going to spend the day staring at me or?" I chuckled. "What do you want me to do love? Especially after that rather rude awakening?" She thought for a moment smiling. "Get me some breakfast?" She asked hopefully. I smiled and kissed her forehead. Elijah looked away uncomfortably. Serves you right for trying to tear us apart!
I pulled on a jacket and started to leave when my dear sister Rebeka walked in with a bag. "Nik you don't need to get food. I have it here." She said handing Alice a blood bag. She quickly drained it and tossed it to the side. I laughed at her carelessness.
"Well Aly I'm not sure what you did to my brother but you seemed to have tamed him." Rebekah said smiling playfully. "I don't think even I can do that." Alice said laughing as she pulled her firey red hair back into a ponytail. "Now hush let me read." She scrunched her eyebrows together in concentration. "Nik, Elijah why don't we go for a walk and let Alice concentrate?" Beka said. Alice gave her a thankful look and continued reading.
The crisp morning air bit at my skin but I didn't really care. I smiled as the sun came up reminding me of Alice. Her bright and beautiful attitude towards life. The colors swirled together forming a light orange purple colour. "So Nik you like Alice hm?" Elijah laughed at our little sisters stupid question.
"Well I think like would be a bit of an understatment." Elijah said smiling. I shoved my hands in my pocket to try and stop my claws from extending. How dare he! "I wouldn't be talking if I were you brother." I said coldly glaring daggers at him. He raised an eyebrow. "You compelled Alice to forget about me in 1763 when we met her and then allowed Kol to almost sleep with her." I growled angrily. Elijah sighed.
"It seems as if you remember." Rebeka looked away ashamed. "You had also fallen in love with her but she loved and loves me." I said staring at Elijah. Rebeka looked from my brother to myself then back at my brother. "Nik. You have to understand that Alice reminded Elijah of-" Elijah clamped his hand down over her mouth. "Alice reminded you of who?" I asked my eyes narrowing. "Katerina." My body tensed and I drew a sharp breathe. "Katerina is nothing like Alice!" I barked and spun on my heel walking away. I knew that my brother loved Katerina but did he have the gaul to compare her to Alice?
Katerina was the bitch of a vampire who ruined my one chance of breaking the curse that supressed my werewolf gene. If I could break that curse I would be able to become one of the strongest beings ever to exist. As we walked home I could sense fear. I looked around and my eyes fell on a dead corpse which hung from Alice's balcony. There was a scroll with a message on it.
If you ever want to see your girlfriend again bring me the moon stone. -K
Speak of the devil. I reread the note. The moonstone was an old item used to strengthen vampires beyond their years but only a witch could bistow that kind of power. I wasn't concerned at all though. If there was one thing I knew about Alice it was that she could take care of herself. Elijah became frantic and Rebeka cracked her nuckles. "Relax brother. We have delt with Katerina enough. We can easily take care of her....unless Alice does it for us."
"We'll probably reach her little hide out and find Katerina dead and Alice waiting for us while buffing her nails." Rebekah said laughing as she truly did loathe Katerina for breaking our brother's heart. There was only one miniscule problem- "How could you say that Rebekah!?" Elijah still loves Katerina. Rebekah rolled her eyes and started to ignore our older brother out of sheer boredom. She was sick of trying to explain to Elijah what I horrible person Katerina truly was but he wouldn't listen. He seemed to believe there was still hope for her.
Finally Rebekah broke our brother's neck. "I'm sorry Nik but I couldn't bear to hear about her anymore." Bekah said slightly fightened of my reaction. "Oh it's alright little sister. I just hope for your sake he isn't too upset about it." I said earning a nodd from Rebekah. You see our brother is a very caring and moral person however when you upset him he can be almost as ruthless and unforgiving as myself.
I did feel slightly worried for Alice knowing that she would recieve much descrimination and cruelty due to her connection to me. Katerina would no doubt try and severe the bond she feels towards me by telling her every gorey detail of her pointless life. I chuckled. If Alice didn't kill Katerina she would surely die of boredom.
"Nik have you tried tracking her?" I shook my head closing my eyes and sniffing the air. I focused on Alice's perfume hoping to find even a trace of it. Finally after a few minutes the fruity scent of Alice's perfume wafted it's way up into my nostrils. "I have her scent." I gave Rebekah a gesture that meant follow me as I made my way through the french quarter and towards the outskirts of town.
We found an abandoned business factory which reaked of Alice's scent. We snuck into the building and found the area Alice was being held in. Well held would be too strong a word. Alice was actually killing Katerina at this point. Well this in definately an unexpected turn.
