Alice was thrown into me as another earthquake started. I caught he steadying her. She blushed lightly looking up at me. What was this girl's trick? Everytime I was with her I felt happy. It must be a spell. Or do I finally feel like I've found home?

The earthquake ended sooner than it had last. Alice looked worried. "What's wrong love?" I asked. "My friend Josie was going to try banishing the vampires again tonight." She said worriedly. "Normally she lasts longer than this...She was interupted." Fear was in her eyes.

She climbed up to the roof with me to see a circle of vampires watching Marcel yelling at a witch. "You can't do magic in this town Josie. Dont you know that? Anyone who does magic in this town gets caught." He started to walk away then spun around slitting the girls throat. Alice spun around covering her face.

I pulled Alice into my chest. She was trembling slightly and I could hear her beathing deeply. I looked down the see Marcel looking directly at me smiling evilly as his vampires cheered at the death of a witch. I helped Alice back down to her apartment. We sat on the couch and she pulled her knees up to her chest. She looked so feebal and vulnerable. I held her hand tightly. She looked at me smiling sadly. I felt an odd feeling then closed my eyes already knowing what was to come.

Alice was sitting under a tree outside on a green pasture at night. She had a blanket wrapped around her. She wore a silver necklace, a brown dress that gathered around her as she sat. I walked towards her to see that she had been crying. "What's wrong love?" She looked up at me sadly tears still glistening silver in her eyes. "My brother...John...he's dead. He crossed a beast on his way back to the caves last night of the full moon and-" I sat down beside her as she took a deep breathe. "I'm so sorry love." I gripped her hand kissing it lightly.

I ran my fingers over her knuckles. She smiled sadly. "It's alright Klaus. He's in a better place." She said resting her head against the tree trunk. I leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. "Promise me you'll never leave me Nik. I couldn't bare to lose you too." She whispered softly. I looked at her and she caressed my cheek. I smiled at her and rested my forehead against her's.

"When we get married I will make sure we never have to lose each other ever." I said. She smiled and turned to face me. Her lips pressed against mine sweetly. I lifted her so she stradeled me. "I love you." She whispered pressing her forehead against my own. "Always and forever."

I opened my eyes to see Alice facing away from me holding her head. "What's wrong love?" I asked standing up. "I-I...." She turned to look at me. "Who are you? Really? How long have you lived for?" I smiled sadly. I knew this moment would come. This moment when I would tell her and I would lose her. "A very long time love." She nodded. I could tell the memories had scared her. "Love I understand that you're scared but-" "Klaus please stop." She said shaking her head.

"We were supposed to get married, then why didn't we?" She asked. "I don't know love. I don't remember either." I said frustratedly hitting the wall. "Klaus calm down." She said softly. "How am I supposed to calm down!" I yelled. "I can't even remember if I met you let alone married you! Someone has tampered with both of our memories!"

She grew angry herself. "Don't you think I know that you idiot! Clearly whoever did this doesn't want us to meet again and remember whatever happened between us!" She shouted. "The only way we can figure this out is by staying calm." She said in a normal voice. I nodded slowly the anger slowly melting away. What is this girl doing to me?

She walked over to the balcony and closed the doors. "I need to know about you." She said seriously. I looked at her and sighed sitting. I feared the day she would ask me about me. I fancied her and didn't want to lose her so soon. However I couldn't bare to compel her to forget me.

So I told her about everything from killing my first human to travelling across Europe leaving a trail of dead bodies in my wake. She looked upset as I finished. "I understand if you hate me." I said waiting for her to insult me or yell at me for lying about who I am. The usual reaction. But that didn't happen. "Why would I hate you?" My head snapped up. "What?" I said confused. "You're obviously going through something that is causing you to do this. Whether it's hunger or pain." She said kindly.

"I'm evil!" I yelled suddenly standing. I was actually scared by this girl's affect on me. "I have killed millions and hurt thousands. I have torn families apart and slaughtered people without mercy! How can you see the pain and hurt in me?!" Alice looked at me with a pained expression. "You aren't evil. You are hurt. You were hurt long ago by someone probably a family member. Since then you've never trusted anyone. You are tortured by your demons." She was silent for a moment. "You sound like me." I stared at her unsure of whether I heard her right.

"What?" "My mother broke me as a child. She treated me worse than you would treat any animal and robbed me of any joy I truly felt. She convinced me I was the problem and if it weren't for Elijah I would've ended my own life the moment I realized what I was. A monster." Her eyes were glassy as she stared ahead. "You're no monster. You're the princess in the tower." She laughed. "The very deadly and murderous one but sure." I smiled at that. "And you're the fire breathing dragon gaurding the tower." I looked at her kind smile and warm eyes.

"It does upsets me that this is how you deal with your pain but we all have our way of grieving." She said. She sounded so empty. She understood that I was in pain. She was so, so.... unique. She understood me.

She yawned. "I need sleep." She said stretching out tiredly. I nodded. "Klaus?" I looked up to see that she looked scared about something. "Would you ever kill me?" I stared at her in shock. "I'd rather die." The words left my mouth before I could think. She smiled shyly and walked into her room closing the door behind her. What's happening to me? What is she doing to me?

"It seems as if you're falling in love brother." I turned to see my older brother smiling at me standing on the balcony. "What do you mean Elijah?" I said confused. I didn't love Alice. Did I? "You think of her kindness as odd because of everything you have done and after she knows she excepts you still...you believe that there is more to her." He said. "Have you been thinking about her alot? The way she changes you and respects you yet cares so much and accepts you as you are?" He asked. I nodded surprised at my own answer. "Well then Nicklaus Michaelson. You are falling in love."
