I watched helplessly as Alice lay breathing deeply in her unconcious state. Finally after what felt like hours which in reality was a few minutes her eyes fluttered opened. "It's begun." She whispered. Rebeka looked very confused and so I explained to my little sister about the curse. "Here it is. This is the warning signs: Black outs, intense pain caused by burning skin and dizziness." Alice said still catching her breathe from her fainting spell.
"Sadly I'm yet to find the solution." Alice looked very upset as she tugged at the ends of her red curls. "It'll be fine Aly." My sister said hopefully. "Really? How? How is any of this fine?" Alice said fighting back tears as she blinked rapidly. "If I don't find the way to break the curse Beka we may both end up dying." She screamed.
Alice stood up and walked over to her room slamming the door harshly. I could hear her washroom door close and water start to run. Rebekah slowly started to clean up the glass and put the blood away. I decided to wait in Alice's room to speak to her. I walked into the room and sat down so my back rested against her head board.
I glanced around the room and noticed a book or journal of the sorts lay near me on the bed. I picked up the book and flipped through it. It was a music book full of songs and poems. I turned the pages slowly reading each song until I found a song that was labelled: Niklaus & Family. It was circled twice and two question marks were beside it. PAST was written next to the title in bold letters. I slowly read the lyrics and couldn't help but stare. Is this truly how she felt towards me?
A drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most,
Cause you are my heaven.
I don't wanna waste the weekend
If you don't love me, pretend a few more hours, then it's time to go
As my train rolls down the east coast I wonder how you keep warm
It's too late to cry
To broken to move on
And still I can't let you be
Most nights I hardly sleep
Don't take what you don't need from me
It's just a drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most,
Cause you are my heaven.
Misplaced trust and old friends
Never counting regrets
But a grace of god I do not rest at all
In new England as the leaves change
The last excuse that I'll claim, I was a boy who loved a women like a little girl
And still I can't let you be
Most nights I hardly sleep
Don't take what you don't need from me
It's just a drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most,
Cause you are my,
Heaven doesn't seem far away anymore no no
Heaven doesn't seem far away
Heaven doesn't seem far away anymore no no
Heaven doesn't seem far away
A drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most,
Cause you are my heaven.
You are my heaven
I heard the water stop and I swiftly put the book back where it had been. I then picked up Alice's sketchbook and started to look through it. I had a strange feeling she would be very upset if she discovered me reading through that. I wasn't sure what it was but considering I originally found Alice singing I can assume music is very important to her. I stopped flipping through Alice's sketchbook when I found a symbol sketched in intense detail on a page. It looked like a very old sketch and I knew I had seen the symbol before but for some reason I couldn't remember where. A cresent moon which had the sun hanging from the top edge of the moon.
Alice walked into her room wearing a towel and humming quietly. She blushed lightly clearly surprised to see me. "K-klaus!" She was embaressed. "Yes." I asked smiling amused as I looked up from the sketch. "Could you please leave so I can change?" She asked shyly. I have never heard her sound so shy let alone embaressed. I shook my head smirking. She sigh irritatedly and pulled a Japanese screen out and quickly changed behind that. We have how many days left together? We need to find that solution and fast if we want to stay together. I would rather die a most horrible death than see Alice so distraught.
"Klaus?" I looked up in surprise to see Alice sitting beside me. I wrapped my arm around her. I was going to say something when she pulled out a book and started reading. "Really love? Now?" I asked. "Yes now! We need to find that solution Klaus before it's too late!" I stared down at Alice in surprise she was terrified.
I kissed her cheek. "We'll find the solution love." I whispered pressing my lips against hers. She smiled and I repeated the action. We ended up kissing each other repeatedly until I pulled her onto my lap so she was stradeling me. We were officially...what did people these days call it? Making out. I froze and pulled away to see Alice looking very amused as she smirked. She was running her fingers through my hair as she tocked her head to one side innocently.
"You've been reading my thoughts this whole time?" She nodded and pressed our foreheads together. She let her lips lightly brush mine once more. I leaned in when there was a knock at the door. "Alice, Klaus you might want to see this." I groaned and she laughed pecking my lips then got off the bed.
Rebeka was holding a book pointing out a single paragraph in the book. It was in a foreign language that even I didn't know but apparently my sister did. Alice looked at it and gasped after a few moments. Her hand covered her mouth for a moments until she took the book with trembling hands. I looked from her to Rebeka. I didn't understand. What's going on? "Alice what-" She put her hand up silencing me and then started to read the book slowly glancing at Rebeka ever now and then.
"Rebeka please come with me tonight to the edge of the river." Alice said quickly puting books and other items into a bag. She ran into her room. "Alice!" I walked into her room. She pulled the dress over her head and I quickly looked away. "What's wrong? I don't understand!" I said urgently. I wanted nothing more than to cradel Alice and let her just speak her mind to me but something told me she wouldn't be charmed by my words tonight.
"I know you don't." she said. I looked to see her wearing a pair of skinny jeans, brown boots and a grey tank top with a black leather jacket on top. "And you probably never will." She ran out the door carrying the rather large bag. I glanced around her room to see all magical or items related to her witch craft were missing. Alice probably took them with her.
Rebeka quickly packed her own bag. "Rebeka!" I stopped her before she left. "Please tell me what's wrong." I begged . Her shoulders slumped as she pulled her bag out of her door. "She's doing this to save you Nik." She said softly and then used her vampire speed to leave.
What was she doing to save me? How could her leaving me possibly be saving me?
