Chapter 22: Breaking

I was so surprised when I got home from the grocery store (which Rebekah had left to me while she rushed to help Elijah with a project he was working on) to find Alice passed out on the couch. I checked the time to see it was 10pm. It had been three days since Alice had been tortured and she had been being very enuthiastic lately. I smiled as I lifted up my sleeping princess off the couch and walked into her room. "Klaus?" Alice mumbled as she opened her eyes. "Yes love?" I said softly. She smiled sleepily and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"Don't leave." She whispered softly. "Alright love." I kicked off my shoes and pulled my jacket and shirt off then slipped in between the covers. She snuggled into me. "How goes the search love?" I whispered softly. Good. I smiled. So you want to talk to me like this then? She nodded her head. Are you close to finding it? She shook her head sadly. No and my witch abilities are weakening Klaus I can feel myself dying. I tightened my grip on her waist. No! I can't lose you again! I refuse to watch you die! She smiled softly and pressed her lips against mine.

She lifted herself up and stradeled me. I pulled her as close to me as possible. I growled as she ran her fingers along the edge of my jeans. She chuckled. "Klaus you already heard what I have to say about sex. I wanna wait." I sighed. "I know love." She pressed her lips against mine once more than rested her head against my bare chest. I listened until I heard her steady breathing than wrapped the blanket around both of us. I softly kissed her head. She was terrified but refused to let me see it. For an instant she slipped and I could see the fear. I growled at the thought of someone hurting her. I will protect you Alice forever and always.

There was a knock at the window. I gently lay my sleeping princess down and went to the window to find Kol. I was about to yell at him when he spoke, "Let me speak." He said seriously. "Alice asked me to kill her on the night of the full moon to save your life." I froze. She wouldn't really do that....would she? I looked at him and I could see in his eyes he was telling the truth. "Why would she even think of doing that? Out of the question!" I said angrily. Alice turned in her sleep. I looked at her. I could see the scar that ran along her right arm.

The scar she recieved as a mortal from her mother when she disobeyed her mother and speaking with me the first day we met. She wasn't scared of dying she was scared of losing me. I turned to him. "She loves you Klaus." He said quietly. "Treat her right brother." With that he left. I looked at my sleeping girlfriend and sighed. I walked into the living room.

I stayed there for two hours thinking of reasons she would die for me. "What's keep you up Klaus?" I turned to see her. She wore an off the shoulder sweater and short shorts. Focus Klaus. "Kol told me about your idea to sacrifice yourself to save me." She nodded sighing and sat down across from me. "Why?" I stated simply. "I want you to continue to roam the earth and enjoy your life that had been stolen from you." She said looking down at her hands. "I would never be able to do that if you died love." I said staring at her. "Yes you-" "No I wouldn't." I interupted. "I searched for you for over 200 years. I never wanted to let you go all those years ago and I can't lose you now." I whispered.

She looked up at me and I could see the sadness in her eyes. "I can't let you do this Alice." I stated. "And I can't let you die." She said. "You can't leave this house until the night of the full moon." I stated. "What?!" She yelled angrily. "I'm not going to let you leave." She closed her eyes and snapped her fingers creating a flame.

"If you wont let Kol kill me I'll do it myself. I hope you realize." She said darkly. I stared at her in shock. She wouldn't. Yes she would. A voice in my head said. I know she would. I relaxed. "Well then we'll have to find someone to relieve you of your powers." I said smirking. She looked at  me and I could feel the anger radiating off of her. She closed her eyes and I watched as she walked over to her room. A kitchen knife came flying at me and stabbed my shoulder just above my heart. Alice slammed the door using her powers. Now she's mad at me.

I sat down on the couch again. I can't lose her again. I thought she had died the last time she dispeared. But now that I have  her again. I cant let her go. I pulled the knife out of my shoulder and cleaned the blood off of my bare chest. I rested my head against the arm of the chair and closed my eyes. I need sleep then I'll deal with this problem.

I woke up the next morning to see Alice listening to music while reading through the books. "Morning." I said. She didn't reply. She was still mad. She flipped the page barely acknowledging me. I sighed and went for a shower. I walked out to see that Alice wasn't  on the couch anymore. I pulled a pair of trousers on and knocked on her door. I pressed my ear against the door to hear soft strumming and a gentle voice singing.

Cause you turned your face.

But now I cant see you anymore.

Turned your face.

Now I cant feel you anymore

Walk away till your not standing at my door.

Turn away walk away or stay

Turned your face.

Each time I take you back you bring one thousand cracks and I except them like a fool.

But now what's your excuse?

What do we have to lose?

Cause I'm already losing you.

So hard to take.

That I cant see you anymore.

Hard to take.

That I cant feel you anymore.

Walk away till your not standing at my door.

Turn your face, walk away and stay.

I could hear her sigh through the door. "Ally?" I said softly. "Please answer. I'm going crazy." I heard movement behind the door then the door was opened. I opened my mouth then closed it again hanging my head. She would never forgive me after what I said to her. "KLAUS!" I looked up to see a smiling Alice. "You know you're really handsome when your focusing too hard?" She asked seriously. I burst out laughing and pulled her into me. "I found it." She whispered against my chest. I pulled Alice so I could look down at her face. I gave her a confused look. "I found the solution."
