I woke up to the sound of some unknown pop song and the smell leather. I was in the front seat of a car with Bekah sitting beside me focused on the road. "Morning sleeping beauty." She said smiling brightly.
"Bekah....where am I...where's Klaus?" I asked urgently earning a smirk from the blonde original. "He's cleaning up the mess we left behind after drawing so many of our family's enemies to Mystic Falls. We'll be spending time in a cottage relaxing while the men do the work. The way it should be." I chuckled at that and the smile remained on my face until the smell of fresh blood reached my nostrils.
"Rebekah...." She rolled her eyes. "He was going to arrest us for not having the proper papers and he's on vervain. Relax he isn't dead." I smiled satisfied with the restraint the vampire had shown.
"So where do we dump him and when?" I asked as I noticed I was wearing a white strapped dress and a jean jacket with my black sneakers. "I changed you about an hour ago. Your baby bump is starting to show by the way." I glanced down at my stomach to see a slight bulge over my stomach.
"The baby is growing twice as fast as a regular baby. Just the perks of it being a vampire." The women said envy in her voice. "You always wanted a child didn't you Beks?" I asked softly waiting for the women's answer. "Yes." She mumbled her voice equally as gentle. "Well you can help me raise mine."
That's when it hit me. "Bekah how long have I been out for?" I asked cautiously. She tapped her chin lightly. "Um...about a week." She said sheepishly. I sighed rubbing the barely noticable bump that was forming on my stomach. I was going to be a mother in less than three months. "How do you feel about being a mother?" Rebekah asked suddenly earning a smirk from me. "Elijah?" She nodded rolling her eyes.
"I don't know. Happy I guess? All I know is that I want to be there for my son throughout his life. My mother died when I was twelve and my father no longer than six years later. I want my child to grow up knowing his parents and being surrounded by love." I said resting my head against the window. "That's a very brave dream Alice especially with our family." Rebekah said pride in her voice.
We drove into a forested area and down into a valley where a cottage stood well concealed by the trees around it. "Impressive." I said as I got out of the car. I reached to grab a bag from the back of the car but Bekah's powerful gaze willed me not to.
I walked into the cottage and smiled. A fire place was on the face right of the room with two couches one on either side of the ashen filled pit. On the other side of the room was a kitchen/dinning room area which had a sink, fridge, stove, dinning table and a few tables not to mention multiple cup boards. The walls were lined with Nik's paintings and a few windows located on either side of the fire place and two in front of the sink.
"Do you like it?" Rebekah asked as she laid out a big rug in between the kitchen and the living room area. "I love it." I breathed as I walked farther into the cottage. There were five doors. I opened two of them to see small bedrooms with a bed, wooden wardrobe and wooden side table. The next room was a small washroom with another bedroom beside it nearly identical to the others with the exception that the bed was a lot bigger.
The final room I opened only to clamp my hand over my mouth. In the center of the room was a baby crib with blunt crystal pieces hanging above it, a single window on the far right of the room had bright sunshine streaming in with cream colored curtains draped across the window and a rocking chair right beside the window by the door. "Nik designed it himself and had it done a few days after the incident with you." Bekah said smiling as she gently rubbed my shoulder.
I smiled and nodded rubbing my stomach before closing the door and sitting down on the couch. "What's bothering you Alice? Ever since you were put into that weird coma thing you've been having nightmares." Rebekah asked touching my shoulder in concern. "What are the chances that the baby will survive?" I asked softly. Rebekah opened her mouth but I quickly finished my point. "With Michael living." She froze. "You saw him?" I nodded fear filling my mind at the thought of losing the baby. Of losing him.
The entire time I was asleep I saw nothing but him as he beat me in attempt to kill my baby. Trying to kill me. He hates Nik and wants him dead. I couldn't let my baby get caught in the cross fire of their quarell. I knew what the blonde vampire was going to say so I looked away.
"Very slim." Bekah choked out. "Rebekah I need to get away...I need to leave. For my baby and for Nik." I whispered causing the blonde vampire's eyes to become glassy and her entire body to tense. "I know but if Nik finds out he'll dagger me and...I don't want to see him hurt you Alice." I closed my eyes. "I'm sorry Rebekah." She opened her mouth and I lifted my hand to her head saying a short spell.
"I need to do this. For both of my boys." I said as Rebekah nodded following all of my commands as I told her what to do. Within the hour I was prepared to leave but every fiber of my being screamed stay. I felt tears roll down my cheeks as I looked around the room.
I heard car doors slam and I swiftly undid my spell on Rebekah. "Thanks for helping me get to the couch Bekah. I nearly collapsed there." I said holding my head and composing myself. "Love are you alright?" Klaus asked rushing over to me as he entered the small hut. I nodded. "Just a little morning sickness." I said smiling as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "We'll be in our rooms." Elijah said winking at me before the two originals walked into their rooms and closed it.
"I've missed you." Klaus nuzzled me as he mumbled, "You. Are. Mine." In a possesive tone. I chuckled kissing Nik sweetly. His lips travelled down my neck and over every corner and crevis of my exposed skin. "Nik!" I said shoving him playfully. "Elijah and Rebekah are here." I whispered blushing lightly.
"And?" He asked smirking as he lifted me up bridal style and carried me to our bed room. "Love why do you have a dagger by your bedside?" Klaus asked as he put me down on the bed. "I'm not a vampire yet Klaus. I should be careful and take precautions." I said seriously knowing very well why I had kept the magical dagger there. "Oh. But I'll be here love?" He seemed skeptical of the idea. "And?" I might as well be protected all the time no?" I asked leaning back on my elbows on the bed.
He nodded and lay down beside me twirling a strand of my hair on his finger. "I thought I lost you love." He whispered surprising me. His voice was so vulnerable, weak, fragile. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm gonna stay right here and cause all kinds of trouble." I said smiling at him as his eyes brightened and his arms wrapped around me. He smiled brightly and kissed me lifting my hips up so I was resting on his lap. I flipped around and pinned him to the bed. I leaned down and kissed him reaching for the weapon.
I pulled him up so he was pressed against my body. I gripped the handel of the dagger and pointed it towards his back. "I love you." I whispered as tears filled my eyes. "Alice...love whats-" He was cut off as I pinned him to the bed and stabbed him in the heart. His eyes were wide with shock as his body started to go limp.
"I'm sorry Nik but if Michael thinks we're dead he'll leave you alone. So we have to leave. I have to leave. I knew you wouldn't let me so I had to do it by force. I love you so much." I whispered resting my forehead agaisnt his kissing him.
"Good bye Nik."
