"So Alice what do you normally wear to this ball?" Rebeka asked as we walked throught the streets of New Orleans. "Um I've never gone to it." Rebeka stopped walking. "Why?" She asked confused. "It's not very fun going to a ball alone to watch others dance and have fun. Not to mention the fact that the entire town hates me because I'm a magic using witch/vampire." I stated and continued walking. "Well you're with us now and us girls gotta stick together." She said linking arms with me as we walked down the busy street. "Now let's see if this dreary old town has anything worth wearing."

We went from store to store but nothing felt right. Finally I spotted a small vintage store and slipped into it while Rebeka was looking at shoes. I glanced around the room my eyes finally settling on a royal blue gown. It was perfect. It had a v-neck that ended at about my chest and a criss cross design on the back. The dress flowed out slightly but not too much so to seem over the top. I smiled and picked the dress up running my fingers over the smoothe fabric.

I slipped into the woman's change room and tried it on. It was a perfect fit! I twirled giggling as I turned. "Oh!" I turned to see the old women who owned the store gazing at me. "You look beautiful!" I smiled and immidiately purchased the dress. I walked out to see a very pissed off Rebeka who demanded I return the dress. "Rebeka this is the dress." I insisted standing my ground. I calmly walked into an acessory store and purchased a silver shawl to go with my dress then headed home. Rebeka wanted to see me wear it but I refused.

"You'll see it tonight. Bye Beka!" She left very unhappy. "I don't think I've ever seen my sister so unhappy!" Nik said chuckling. "Well she needs to learn that not everything will be handed to her on a silver platter." I said turning to look at Klaus who was buttoning his white shirt on for his tuxedo.

"What color tie love?" He asked as he showed me a tray covered with hundreds of ties one for each color of the rainbow. I glanced up at the poor compelled young man. "Was this your doing?" I asked Nik nodding towards the man. "Oh come now love this is so much easier than asking." I rolled my eyes. "You're hopeless." I said picking a tie and throwing it at the British hybrid.

I took the tray from the man and looked him in the eyes. "Your services are no longer needed. You may leave. As soon as you walk through the door forget this ever happened." I said compelling the man who left quickly. "I'm sorry love. I just wanted everything to be perfect and he's the best suite sales man in town." Klaus said planting a kiss on my cheek. "You are incourageable you know that?" I said earning a laugh from him. "And rather handsome."

I quickly showered and stepped into my room. I slipped into the dress and pulled my silver heels on. Next I put on my locket, braclette and ring. All a beautiful silver to match my shawl. Finally I put on a little mascara and eyeliner. I looked at myself in the mirror and barely recognized myself. I never wore much make up or dresses in general so seeing myself in one was odd in a way.

"Love the car is here to take us." Klaus called out interupting my chain of thought. "Head down. I'll be there in a minute." I called out. I looked in the mirror one last time before grabbing my silver clutch and then stepped downstairs walking down the main stair case. Klaus was talking with Elijah but they both turned to stare at me as soon as they heard the clicking of my heels. Klaus' eyes became wide and darkened. Elijah looked stunned as did Rebeka.

"You look beautiful Alice." Elijah said. "No she doesn't..." Everyone turned to look at Klaus. "She looks absolutely radiant." He smiled at me admiring me as we stepped into the car. Klaus wrapped his arm around me while Elijah and Rebeka sat across from us. "Alice I take it back that dress looks breathtaking on you!" Beka said excitedly.

She wore a gold strapless dress that flowed out with gold jewlery and her bangs pulled back so people had a clear of her face. "Thanks Beka!" I beamed happily. "You look incredible in your dress." Which made Bekah lower her head pleased with my response. Klaus pulled me a little closer to him. I felt his hot breathe tickle my neck. He squeezed me hand tightly then pecked my cheek. I looked down at my wrist to see the number twenty. I sighed and looked out the window. At least we'll have a moment of rest.

As we arrived at the ball I instently sensed ten vampires watching us. "Klaus..." I whispered. "I feel it too love. It's alright." I nodded and smiled kindly to the man who drove us to the ball. As we walked up the marble stairs to the large doors that automatically opened.

A young women took my silver shawl and Klaus and I walked through the room. Klaus handed me a glass of champaigne. We sipped it as we looked around. I waited as a young vampire stopped Klaus trying to flirt with him. "Excuse me love but my girlfriend and I are in the middle of enjoying a beautiful evening I'd really like to get back to it." I giggled as we walked away. The woman looked extremely upset and rather jealous. Nik looked at me with such love and admiration I couldn't stop myself from blushing.

My eyes fell on a young women who glared at me. Witch. I could sense her magic from here. I noticed she held something in her hand. It was an old artifact: an old bone taken from a vampire. It was used to place curses or...banish people from this world.

I felt chills run down my spine as I looked around seeing all the vampires. "Klaus." I said testily. He looked down at me smiling. His smile disappeared when he noticed my pale face. "The witches are going to banish every vampire in this room." I whispered. He nodded slowly. "I couldnt feel it until now. There are many witches here. We have to leave." I grabbed his hand and pulled him through the crowd of people searching for Rebeka and Elijah.

"So much for a moment of peace." I muttered. I spotted the siblings and started to walk towards them when Klaus wrapped his arm around my hips protectively. I turned to him confused. What are you doing? I asked telepathically. Please you have to trust me love. "Hello Brother." We both turned and I froze in shock at the man who stood before me. It was impossible. I though he was dead. Klaus said he had killed him. He ripped is heart directly out of his chest. How- "Hello Kol."
