Niklaus woke up to see Rebekah and Elijah standing over him. He shot up into sitting position in bed. Elijah looked at him and he knew. She was gone. That's when it started. The pain, the rage. Nik started to throw things and break the walls. Rebekah jumped slightly and closed her eyes as he angrily destroyed the cabin.

"Niklaus she left because she wanted to protect you. She talked to me about it but I didn't think she'd actually do it."  Rebekah said no louder than a whisper. "You knew?!" The hybrid belowed in rage my eyes glowing gold. "Niklaus! Alice made her decision to save you by leaving do not take it out on our sister." He fell down onto his bed....their bed. He buried his face in his hands.

"She wanted to protect the child, our family," Rebekah said gently as she rested her head against what was left of the door frame. "And you. She couldn't bear the thought of you suffering." Niklaus looked at his little sister to see the sorrow in her eyes. Rage filled him. "No she left because she never loved me she never cared. And she will rue the day she tried to decieve me!"

Many miles away Alice lay in a hotel room alone. She was awake unable to sleep at the thought that Niklaus probably hated her now. She felt tears fill her eyes as she held her stomach. "It's just you and me now." She whispered as she rested her hand on her stomach closing her eyes as tears slide down her cheeks.

Alice travelled to Canada where she lived in the mountains and gave birth to her son John Niklaus Michaelson. It has been six years since she left Niklaus and not a day goes by that she doesn't miss her ex-fiancee. Her son John is the spitting image of his father with his blue eyes and brown hair. He is a hybrid child who is just starting to learn to use magic at the ripe age of six.

Niklaus has spent the past six years searching for the women he loves trying to find out why she left with help from his siblings. Michael unknowing to the Michaelson siblings has found his children but enjoys watching his bastard son Niklaus suffer without his child and the women he loves.

Elijah searches for Alice when he isn't chained to his brother in attempt to try and reach out to the women in her time of need. He knows of his father's presense and so he looks in secret so not to make his father aware of his intentions.

Life goes on for the Michaelson family that is until a rumor reaches one of Niklaus' witches.

"Niklaus!" The women yelled hope in her voice. Jessabelle had always loved Klaus and was hoping this good news would bring her favour with him because he had been rather moody lately. "Yes. Jessabelle?" The hybrid growled having been interupted when reading.

"There has been a report of a hybrid child found in Canada said to have been defending a women. A red heas with grey eyes wearing your lover's locket." She said smiling brightly. Niklaus tightened his grip on the book he held.

"Bring me Rebekah and Elijah. We're going after them. I want that women dead and my child in my arms." He growled causing Jessabelle's shoulders to slump. She had hoped to have gotten some kind of reward for her finding. "Good work Jessabelle."

Klaus walked down the hall to his sister's room to see her door was open revealing that she was in fact speaking to their older brother. "He will kill her Elijah. We can't let him find out." Bekah said in a raspy voice. It sounded as if she'd been crying. "Yes but knowing Jessabelle that witch will tell Klaus expecting some form of recognition in return. Alice must be quite desperate to be coming back to these parts. She knows that Niklaus hates her. Yet she returns why?" My elder brother spoke his voice full of worry.

"Jessabelle has already informed me of my ex-fiancee's status brother." Klaus thundered as he entered the room. His siblings looked at him in shock. His younger sister's eyes were red from crying and his brother's eyes were full of sorrow. "Why do you show so much sadness towards this women?!" The hybrid bellowed angrily.

"Because you love her. Because you care for her. And because when you were with her you acted almost human. She made you happy Niklaus so we mourn for her just as much if not more than you do. Because we didn't just lose a friend or a family member but we lost our brother as well." Elijah said holding his younger sister as she sobbed into his chest. Rebekah hated crying but Alice had always been like a sister to her. Seeing Alice driven away from the people she loved by Rebekah's family and their enemies broke the woman's heart.

Nik was taken back by his sister's words. He was still here so why would they think he was dead. As if reading his mind Rebekah spoke up. "Nik you aren't dead, you're wounded. You have become the monster again. You left that happy boy who loved art and music behind after she left and you became him again. The blood thirsty hybrid."

Niklays stared apon his sister's teary eyed and flushed face. She hurt so much over this women and this child. His Child. "Please Nik I beg of you. Do not kill her or the child. They are our family. They are your family." Rebekah pleaded. He closed my eyes and nodded.

He walked back to his study and closed the door. He sat down in his favourite seat by the window right next to the bar. The hybrid poured himself a glass of brandy and started to sip it remembering his past. Remembering her.

Michael stood over him beating him senseless. "Stop it! Please!" A women screamed. Nik turned to see Alice sobbing as she watched. Don't cry Alice. Please don't. "You stupid child let him beat his son." Her mother scolded reaching for her daughter who pulled away from her mother lunging forward and dropping to her knees beside Niklaus. She wrapped her arms around him protectively.

"You protect this bastard!" Michael yelled in rage. He felt Alice flintch as she was whipped by the man who held so much hate to him. No. Not her. Anyone but her. Klaus flipped Alice over laying her down gently on the ground before he tackled his father angrily.

"You may beat me all you may please but lay a hand on her and I will kill you!" He spoke angrily hitting his father harder with every word. "Niklaus enough!" Esther his mother said in shock forcing her son off of her husband. Niklaus crawled over to the red headed women who lay bleeding eyelids half closed.

"Alice. You are safe. He will never hurt you again." He whispered earning a small smile from the women. "Thank you Niklaus." The boy shook his head. "Thank you. You gave me strength to fight back."

Alice met Niklaus later that night by the river. "How long do you think it will be before your father will insist you marry?" He asked washing his hands in the water fearful of what he was about to hear. "In a few years. Here." Alice knelt down beside her friend and gently ran her fingers over his bleeding knukles which were emerged in water. The blood washed off revealing clean skin.

Niklaus looked up at Alice and smiled. "You're amazing." She shook her head. "I wish I was normal. I have hurt people before Nik. My power can both give life and take life away. I don't want to become a monster." She whispered terrified. "You are beautiful and kind hearted Alice. How could you ever become a monster? And your power will save millions. Why would you ever want to be normal?"

She blushed and lowered her head. Nik lifted Alice's chin. Her eyes sparkled with renewed faith in herself and a smile had claimed her lips. "Thats what I've been waiting to see." Niklaus whispered before kissing Alice. Their first kiss.

The man opened his eyes tears forming in his now gold eyes. "Alice." The man whispered breaking the glass in his hands. There was a knock at his study door. Klaus wipped his eyes. "Yes?" He asked as the door slowly opened revealing Jessabelle. "Niklaus you may want to see this." She said scowling.

He walked down the hall to the grand stair case. Rebekah stood cradelling a young boy who was crying and who's hands were covered in blood. "Where is she?" Rebekah looked at her older brother in fear. "We don't know."
