Four Years Later

The smell of freshly baked bread hits my nose and I let out a delighted moan, "Man, I've missed this smell."

"You and me both." Olivia murmurs happily, placing a loaf of bread into the basket along with some other food.

"I still can't believe you got the mill up and running, it's a miracle." I say, looking around at the large building in awe.

"I had a lot of help, Eugene helped me plan the designs. He did a lot of it too." She says modestly, covering up the food with a cloth.

I chuckle at her and shake my head, "Learn to take a compliment Olivia."

A small blush comes to her cheeks and she holds the basket out for me, "There you go Bree, I hope you enjoy. I snuck an extra loaf in there for you."

"You shouldn't have done that." I scold lightly, taking the basket off of her and looking inside.

She waves her hand nonchalantly, "It's fine. Besides I know how quickly your family goes through food."

I chuckle and nod my head, "Yeah, they're Dixons alright. Thank you."

She nods and I turn, making my way out of the mill. The sun shines brightly down from above me, warming up my skin. I look around and I can't help the wonder and awe that overflows me as I look at this place. People work in the large crops, sowing seeds and harvesting food. Some feed the pigs in the pens, also tending to the cows and horses. In the distance I see the windmill spinning, providing some of the energy for the place along with the solar panels.

People give me smiles and I return the gesture as I walk along the board walk, the basket over my arm towards the building site. The sound of hammering and sawing reaches my ears and soon I reach the edge of the construction site. I cover my eyes from the sun and look up at the figure hammering away at a post, his winged vest visible to me.

"Looking good babe." I call out, a smile in my voice.

He stops hammering and turns round to look at me, a smile on his lips, "Me or the building?"

"Both." I murmur cheekily.

He chuckles and shakes his head, "I'm working overtime while the others are out leading the herd away. They've been gone for a few days now."

"I'm sure they're fine. With Jesus in charge, I'm sure they'll be home soon enough." I reassure him.

He nods his head and looks down at the basket on my arms, "I see you've visited Olivia, looks like she's stocked you up."

I look down at the basket and give a nod of my head, "Yeah, she's too good to us."

He begins to climb down the ladder as he answers, "I know, but I'm grateful for it."

"You and me both." I say.

He reaches the ground and begins to walk over to me. He places his hands on my hips and leans down, placing his lips on mine. I smile into the kiss, reaching around and squeezing his ass playfully in my palm.

"Hey." He says, pulling back and I chuckle, "I'm sorry, but you've got a great ass."

He scoffs and rolls his eyes and I reach into the basket and pull out a water bottle, holding it out to him. He unscrews the lid and begins to drink when I hear running footsteps on the boardwalk behind me. Something flies past us as I see four small figures running along as fast as they can.

"Hey, stop right where you are!" I call out.

The children screech to a stop and turn to look at me, their faces looking at me worried. I place the basket on the ground and take a step towards them, my hands on my hips.
