Interval Chapter--- Truth, Feelings and Love

Angelo’s POV

                 I’m surprised on who’s standing in front of my door.

           “Sassy?”  She looked at me blankly and then..

           “Angelo!”  She hugged me crying.

        Nagulat din ako. Pumasok kami sa loob ng sala and..

               “Jervey. Jervey is coming here. My boyfriend.”  Nakatingin siya sakin.

              “J..jervey? Your..boyfriend?”

              “Yes. I didn’t tell you about him because I hate him. I leave America at tumakbo ako palayo sa kanya. He was always busy with his job. Wala na siyang time sakin. I decided to go away and think about my feelings for him. But then I still miss him kahit na inaaliw ko yung sarili ko kasama ka.”

              I then hugged her.

           “Why did you leave without even talking with him? Maybe naayos niyo yung problema agad. Now that he’s coming, pag-usapan niyo lahat.”

              Nakita kong tumahan na siya.

         “Thanks, Angelo. I’m sorry na pinipilit kita sumama sa States. It will always be your decision afterwards. Alam ko yung kwento mo. Umandar lang yung pagkaselfish ko at pagiging foolish. ”

           “No problem.” I said to her.

            “Gusto ko nandun ka kapag nagkita na kami.” I just nodded.

             Kanina ko pa kasi iniisip si Ems. It’s the Seventeenth Day.

            “I know what’s bugging your mind.” Nagulat ako sa kanya.

            “It’s Ems, right?” tanong niya sakin.

            “I’m sorry again, I think I said the wrong advice for you. You’re a person that’s been sure with your feelings. If you love him, then tell him. Life is too short. You never know it’s the end.”

            Natawa ako sa kanya. I’m the one who’s comforting her but now she’s been advicing me.

            “I don’t really understand these feelings. But now I know I need to acknowledge this. I can’t even stop thinking about him. There’s something about him that a piece of me wants to know. I love him. I need to tell him this. And the feeling of missing him even when I’m happy. I think that’s true affection.”

         Ngumiti si Sassy.

         “I’m happy that you’re being true to yourself. Tell your feelings. That’s all about it.”

          That afternoon, I went with Sassy to the airport. I know she’s really nervous of the fact that she was about to face her boyfriend.

The moment they talk, nagkaayos agad sila. Jervey had his reason. Nagpalipat siya ng job that would have him his time.

          Lumapit si Sassy sakin. Iniabot niya sakin yung isang cellphone.

               “I know you don’t have a cellphone. I’m giving you this. You can call me and your Tita. I will call you too. We’re going back to States. I owe this to you. Angelo, puntahan mo siya. If that’s what your heart’s been telling you, then go. Thank you sa lahat. Have a good life!” at umalis na silang masaya.

              “Now that I’m sure, I---------”  nahilo ako. I suddenly saw a scene. Bodega. Three masked men with baseball bat. Ems! At hindi ko makita yung mukha ng kasama ni Ems. But I know Ems is in trouble.

                     A few minutes has passed and I’m in front of a warehouse. Pumasok ako dahil nag-aalala ako sa pwedeng mangyari kay Ems. I will ignore what he said. He needs me. And I need him.

Nagtago ako sa mga cabinet at kahon na nakatambak sa gilid. Nagulat ako sa nakita ko. Si Ems, naka upo at nakatali. Kasama niya yung isang lalakeng pamilyar sakin. Napapaligiran sila ng tatlong lalake.

          I don’t know what to do. I then remember I have a cellphone. I immediately dialed the Emergency number and call the police to come here.

           Tinanggal ng isang lalake yung tali nung isang nakaupo. I was surprised.  Si Migz! My bestfriend. Bakit sila magkasama ni Ems? Bakit sila nandito? What’s worse is when the guy hit Migz and he fell unconsciously on the floor. I’m shocked that I suddenly bumped the boxes and it fell. It caught their attention.  I ran and I heard them run towards me.

          Mabuti na lang at dumating yung mga pulis. I just don’t know what happened. Sinama ako ng mga pulis sa ospital but I insist that I’ll ride the other car.

           Nakita ko si Ems.  Katabi niya si Migz. Maybe he’s the one for him. Isa pa, malapit na mag sunset. Uuwi na ko. I walk lifeless, praying for two things. I want Ems to meet the person for him para mabuhay pa siya. And I want to tell him my feelings, at sana msabi ko yun before everything else ends.
