All Things Go - Chapter Thirty Five

"Yeah, bro, I'll give you a call later," I stated as I pulled onto my street. "I'm almost home and I'm planning on taking Alyssa and Abel on a little date to the zoo or something."

I heard Kevin chuckle through the phone. "Alright, bro, call me when you can. It was nice seeing you, bye."

I hung up the phone and stopped at a stop sign. I set my phone down on the front seat and when I looked up, I saw a black car speeding down the street. Woah there buddy, that's a little dangerous.

I pulled into the driveway. I grabbed my phone off of the seat and quickly made my way up the stair case and to my apartment. When I was standing outside the door, trying to fish for my keys, I heard Abel crying loudly from the other side.

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

I finally found my keys and successfully unlocked the door. I ran inside the house and turned the corner to enter the living room. When I entered, I dropped my bags and ran over to where Alyssa was laying on the floor with blood pooling around her.

I quickly gave Abel his pacifier which kind of shut him up and I immediately turned my attention back to Alyssa laying on the floor. I fell to the floor and pulled her in my lap which caused her to look up at me. 

She was breathing heavily and tears stained her cheeks. I pulled out my phone and tried to dial 911 but Alyssa stopped me. "Baby, it's no use," she breathed out in a hoarse voice. "They wouldn't make it in time anyways. It's okay, baby, it doesn't hurt."

I felt the tears fall down my face as I held her in my arms. "No, Alyssa," I cried as I tried to dial 911 once again but my phone froze which made me end up throwing it across the room. "Please don't leave me, baby. I love you more anything, please don't go! Don't leave Abel, baby, please."

"I am okay, baby, I'm in the arms of my first true love, the person that I've ever seriously loved, the person that I will always love. I love you," she breathes out as a tear escapes her eye. "Please remember that, okay?"

She was about to speak again but she began coughing. Blood slowly started to come out of the corners of her mouth and her eyes began to slowly close. "No, baby, don't go!" I yelled as I held her body closely to mine. "Please don't go, please don't go! Don't leave me alone Alyssa!"

The tears streamed down my face as I tried to shake her back awake but it was no use; she didn't have a heartbeat. "Say something!" I yelled frantically! "Say anything, baby, please! You can't be gone! We were supposed to get married and expand our little family of three!"

The tears streamed down my face as I held her in my arms. "I love you baby girl. Forever and always."
