Zack's POV

I felt sick all the way home. Sick because I had to leave Samantha, sick because I had to come home. Home, it's meant to be your sanctuary, the place you long to be, but to me it was a prison and I hated it.

I pulled up home, sighing. She was home and I'd already decided that we needed to talk, but before I went inside I needed to call Samantha, I missed her already.

I explained to her what I planned to do and I hope she realised I was doing this for her. It was all because of her. I'd met her and she'd managed to turn my life upside down, but in a good way. I'd finally opened my eye's and saw what my life had become and what it could be with Samantha. That's what I wanted, to be with Samantha.

I hung up from her, smiling to myself, opening the car door and getting out, looking at my house. I took a deep breath, walking up the path and slipping my key in the door.

I opened the door and stood there, listening, listening for her and I heard her foot steps, coming down the stairs, straight for me no doubt.

"Well I hope you had a good time." She snapped, descending the stairs. "I expected you to be home before me."

"Yeah well, it ended up being a big night." I told her and that was as much as I was going to tell her because frankly it was no one of her business anymore.

"Well when are you picking up Junior?" She asked, digging around in her purse.

"A few hours." I said, watching her, wondering what I ever saw in her. "Mom said I could pick him up whenever I wanted."

She just nodded, pulling out her phone and frowning at it. "Whatever." She mumbled. "I'm going out soon anyway."

Of course she was, as if she'd be interested in seeing her own child.

"Yeah look Meaghan." I snapped. "We need to talk."

She looked up at me, raising her eyebrow's. "Make it quick."

"No I fucking won't." I snapped at her. "You just might be late for your fucking pedicure or whatever the fuck you're getting done today."

"God." She snapped.

"Now sit the fuck down." I told her. "And shut the fuck up."

She frowned, but headed into the living room, sitting on the couch.

"Fine are you happy?" She asked. "Now talk."

I followed her in, sitting across from her, looking at her, really looking at her and I didn't like what I saw, not at all.

"What's going on here?" I asked, indicating to her and I.

"What?" She asked frowning. "I'm going out."

I sighed. She really was stupid. "No." I mumbled. "What's going on here between you and me?"

Her phone pinged, and I watched her look down, typing.

"Meaghan I think we're over." I told her flatly, with no emotion, because frankly I had no emotions when it came to her anymore.

"What?" She said, her head snapping up, finally dragging her eye's away from the phone.

"I said we're over."

She smiled at me. "Don't be so dramatic."

"I'm not." I snapped. "I'm being deadly serious."

"Oh Zack." She said getting up and sitting next to me. "You always were a little over top." And she leant over, kissing me. "Look, I'll cancel my plans okay, we can hang out here, without the baby."

She was unbelievable, unbelievable and stupid. She had no interest in our son and that hurt, a lot.

"Look." I said pushing her away. "I'm serious, we're over."

She was sitting there, looking at me and she looked shocked. How could she not see this happening?

"I'll pack some things." I said standing up. "Go and stay at my Mother's for awhile with Junior until we can sit down and work some stuff out."

"Work some stuff out?" She asked with wide eye's.

"Yeah you know, like who get's what, who's living where." I explained.

I couldn't believe it. I'd actually just broken up with my wife and instead of feeling upset I felt relieved and excited, excited at the prospect of pursuing a relationship with Samantha.

She shook her head. "You're not making any sense." She cried. "What do you mean?"

"Ugh Meaghan." I snapped. "I told you what I mean, now you go out and I'll pack some things."

I turned and headed into the bedroom, grabbing a bag and opening the closet.

"I'm going honey." Meaghan called out. "I'll see you when I get back."

I shook my head. She really was fucking stupid.

Oh well, I thought shoving clothes into a bag, she'll see when she get's home, when we're not here. She'll see then I meant what I said.

I wandered around the house, grabbing stuff I needed and stuff Junior needed. I didn't want to have to come back until Meaghan was ready to sit down and talk, properly. God, this divorce was probably going to be a nightmare, but I didn't care anymore, she could have all my money as long as I got Junior and kept VU.

I packed the bags into the car, climbing in. I smiled to myself and pulled out my phone, calling Matt. I had to tell someone, I was pretty fucking excited.

"What?" He snapped, his mood obviously foul.

"I did it." I said quickly.

"Did what?" He asked, sounding impatient. "Don't talk in riddles, I'm not in the mood."

"Who's that?" I heard Val whine. "You're girlfriend?"

"It's Zack, you idiot." Matt snapped back at her. "So shut the fuck up."

"Don't speak to me like that." She whined.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP." HE screamed and I heard a door slam. "I can't deal with her anymore." He whispered, more to himself than me.

"You okay?" I asked softly, worried about him.

"No." He laughed dryly. "But what's up, what did you finally do?"

"I left her." I told him, feeling the excitement rise in my chest. "I sat her down, told her and now I'm on my way to Mom's."

"You did?" He asked and honestly he sounded sad and jealous.

"Yeah, I did." I said. "I couldn't do it anymore, I was miserable and well Sam made me open my eye's to what I really want, what I need."

Matt was silent and I thought he'd hung up, until finally he spoke. "I'm happy for you." He said in a strangled voice.

"Matt." I said softly. "What are you doing?"

Fuck, he was miserable and it was horrible, sitting by, watching that bitch of a woman suck the life out of him.

"I don't know." He said and then the line went dead. He'd hung up.

I sighed, putting my phone in my pocket. I was worried about him, he was my friend and I could see him suffering.

Aubrey was good for him, I saw the way he was around her, he was himself and I hoped he didn't let her get away, I really did.

I started the car, smiling. Now I was going to my Mother's. Sure I'd have to explain it to her, but I knew her and I knew she'd support me no matter what I did.

First my Mother, then Samantha's.

It was about time Samantha met my son.
