Mark walked with his shoulders hunched as he cut through the park, his phone in his hand. He teeth chattered as he trudged through the grass, his eyes on the gps on the screen of his phone. "Why did I decide to play this stupid game this early in the morning?" growled Mark.
He noticed that someone had placed a lure next to the nearby playground, so he decided to go see if there were any Pokemon there. As he neared the Pokestop, a Pidgey popped up on screen. Mark easily found the Pidgey and tried to catch it, but stopped to look around when he something move in the bushes. Mark looked around, starting to feel a rising tension."Hello?" he called out, but no one was there.
Mark shrugged and turned his attention back to his phone, throwing another Pokeball to catch the tiny bird. He suddenly heard growling and lifted his head, spotting a large dog that was slowly approaching him. Mark started to panic, seeing as this large dog was more of a huge wolf. Mark held his hands in the air and slowly backed again. "Nice doggy, I'm just trying to catch some Pokemon. There's nothing wrong with that, right?"
The wolf continued to stalk towards Mark, it's teeth bared a it growled. "Catch!" Mark squealed, throwing his phone to his right before taking off through the park.
However the wolf didn't pay any attention to Mark's discarded phone, and sprinted towards him, grabbing the back of his sweatshirt and hauling him to the ground mere seconds after Mark had chucked his phone. Mark screamed, flailing his arms and legs as he tried to escape the wild animal. The wolf only snarled before latching onto Mark's arm with its teeth. Mark screamed from the sheer torture the wolf was putting him through as it shook its head, tearing up the flesh of Mark's arm.
The dog finally stopped, its maw left red as blood dripped from its teeth. Mark laid on the ground, holding his injured arm as he quivered from fear, staring the wolf in the eyes as it hovered over him. The wolf snarled again, and was about to attack again until something barreled into its side, pushing the animal away from Mark as the wolf snapped its teeth at the unknown creature. Mark propped himself up with his good arm and watched as the wolf fought with the person that had just saved him. "RUN!" the man yelled.
Mark didn't have to be told twice, because as quick as humanly possible, Mark was up on his feet and sprinting away from the scene, his arm still in a tremendous amount of pain from the attack.
He didn't know how long he had been running, but he didn't know where he was and he felt like he was about to pass out. He found an alleyway and dropped to the ground deciding that it was a good place to rest until he felt slightly better. His legs felt like rubber, and his right arm had started going numb, which scared Mark. After a few minutes he tried to stand up, or at least crawl, but he ended up falling to his side, his energy completely sapped. He then felt hands flip him onto his back and gently lift his injured arm, making Mark hiss in pain. "He didn't bite any arteries, so you've got something going for ya."
Mark didn't even care who was talking, he just grateful someone was helping him. "How do you know that?"
"Because your arm's not spurting blood, that's why."
Mark nodded, trying to sit up. The man helped Mark sit up and leaned him against the brick wall, then taking off his sweatshirt to make a sling. After carefully slipping the make-shift sling onto Mark, the stranger helped him up, letting Mark lean against him. "Who are you?" Mark asked.
"I'm Jack, and you are?"
"Mark."
"Well, Mark, we need to get you fixed up before the smell of blood attracts anything else." Jack said, taking a deep breath before helping Mark to his feet.
Mark hung his good arm around Jack, using him as a source of strength, due to his lack of it. Jack didn't seem to mind, and wrapped his arm around Mark to help him stay on his feet.
