It was a late night and Mark was bored as he stood behind the counter of the convenience  store. No one really came to a place like this at 11:30 at night. Yet, it was Mark's job to make sure nothing got stolen and they'd be closing in half an hour anyway. He leaned down onto the counter, resting his chin in the palm of his hand as his eyelids grew heavy. The sound of a bell startled Mark, causing him to jerk back up into a standing position as a late night customer walked in.

The man had green hair, and he made eye contact with Mark, nodding politely before wandering around the store. Mark allowed a small smile to slip onto his face, returning to his original position by leaning on the counter, watching the cute customer wander around the store. His raven hair fell in front of his face as he leaned on the counter, watching dreamingly as the green haired man picked up a few items.

The green haired man picked up a candy bar, inspecting it for a second before opening it and taking a bite.  Mark wasn't sure if he was just really tired, so he blinked a few times, standing up straighter to make sure his eyes hadn't decided him. The customer turned to walk down the aisle, before staring at Mark with wide blue eyes, as if he just remembered he wasn't alone.

"Oh... crap." The man's accent was prominent in his voice.

Mark chuckled. "Yeah... I'm pretty sure that's illegal."

"I'll pay for it, I promise." The blue eyed boy promised, panic seeping into his voice.

Mark dismissed his comment with a wave of his hand. "Don't worry about it. This store is trash anyway. I don't think anyone will notice one missing candy bar. Besides, your look of absolute panic was the most entertaining thing I've seen all day."

"If I'm the most entertaining thing you've seen all day, you must've had a pretty bad day." The customer commented, waltzing up to the counter, still munching on the candy bar.

"You're one of five people that I've seen in the past six hours." Mark admitted.

"Yikes." Jack hissed, sympathy seeping into his voice. "Well, hey, if you ever need anyone to keep you company and chase away your boredom on long nights like these, I'm usually up. You gotta pen?"

Mark nodded, taking a pen from the bin off to the left and sliding it to the other man who scribbled something on a slip of paper. Mark took the paper, pushing the pen to the side as he stared at it curiously. His face flushed slightly as he glanced up from the phone number written there and watched the green haired man exit the shop, candy bar in hand.

"Hey! thanks uh..." Mark called after him, trailing off as he realized he didn't know the other mans name.

"Jack." The man replied.

"Thanks Jack." Mark smiled and then, he was gone, the bell jingling as the door shut behind him.

Mark had a feeling he would be calling Jack soon.
