Jack was running as fast as he could to get away from the college campus. Now that it was night time, it wasn't safe any more and the green haired irishman had already gotten caught twice. He had just moved to America a month ago, but he already had bullies who wanted him dead. All Jack wanted was a degree and not to fear for his life every time he left his apartment.
"Hey, Get back here!" one of the bullies yelled, Jack throwing a look over his shoulder to see how close they were.
His eyes widened in panic as they seemed to be getting closer, Jack ran past the door to a roller skating rink. He came to a grinding halt, an idea popping up in his head. He dropped his backpack on the ground and retracing his steps, ducking inside the skating rink. In a panicked hurry, Jack accidently ran into someone as he rounded the corner in the building to go hide. His blue eyes flickered up to the person he ran into, gulping as he noticed the leather jacket on his back. Jack stepped back timidly, eyeing the other four members of the gang, before whirling around as the door to the skate rink opened. His fear of the bullies took over any fear of this gang, and the irishman shoved his way through the group, crouching to hide behind them. He pressed himself against the wall as the bullies looked around the rink, before growling and heading back outside.
"He'll have to leave eventually." one of the bullies pointed out as the door swung shut behind them. Jack let out a sigh of relief, sinking down to the floor, panting heavily.
The gang with the leather jackets exchanged glances, and the leader, the one that Jack had ran into, stepped forward. Jack stiffened as the man squatted down, getting eye level with the green haired college student. He feared for the worst, and was caught off guard as the man spoke up.
"Are you ok?" The man's brown eyes were full of concern as he surveyed Jack's condition. Jack's lip was busted, and there was some blood running down from his nose from where he had been punched repeatedly in the face. His hair was messy, he had a black eye and, though you couldn't tell it, he had quite a few bruises on his chest and stomach.
"I'll be fine." Jack replied, smiling slightly as he held the end of his sleeve up to his nose in attempts to stop the bleeding. He gratefully took the hand that the leader offered, allowing himself to be pulled to his feet. Jack was also thankful that it was a Friday night, he was planning to go home and sleep the weekend away.
"I'm Danny." The leader stuck his hand out and they shook.
"Jack." The irishman replied.
"This is my gang. That's Brian, Matt, Ryan, Mark and me." Danny pointed out everyone as he said their name, each giving a little wave and a smile.
"Nice to meet you." Jack smiled at everyone in return, wrapping his free arm around his stomach as he took a step forward, following the gang towards the door. He was about to say something else, but he cut himself short, his eyes widening as he saw the bullies perched outside the door. "Hey, actually, thanks for uh... You know what, I'm just gonna stay here for a while." Jack quickly ducked out of sight, Danny motioning for his gang to stay put as he went back to find the college student. Jack practically jumped out of his skin as Danny walked up next to him, laying a hand on his shoulder.
"Are those guys out there giving you trouble?" Danny questions.
"No, no they're fine." Jack reassured him. Danny smiled.
"Not my guys. The other guys. The ones hanging out by the front door."
Jack debated in lying, but he finally decided against it, sighing in defeat. "Yeah."
"We could help you." Danny offered.
"Oh no, no. I don't want to drag you and your guys into it. It's, it'll be fine."
