"My name is Sean McLoughlin. But you can call me Jack. I am not perfect. I am not special. I am not different. I am simply a college student who tries their hardest and wants to learn. I am not social. I am not loud. And I will not hurt you. Give me space. Give me time. Give me privacy. Then we will be alright. I am not that smart, but I'm not stupid either. My mind is always working. Analyzing. Creating. Finding solutions. Don't hate me and I won't hate you. Life will go on, and everything will be alright."

Mark stared at the new student in awe, as he smiled at everyone from the front of the room. The teacher nodded at the NeoHuman, instructing him to take a seat next to the raven haired boy, whose mouth hung slightly open at the blue eyed man's opening speech. He tried not to stare as the NeoHuman came walking towards him, sitting to his left. Some students took Jack's word of "give me space" a little too literally, scooting their desks away from him once he took his seat, but Mark didn't. If anything, he was dying to scoot his desk closer, interested in the NeoHuman who sat beside him. He didn't look dangerous.

Mark sat his chin on his palm, leaning on the desk and trying to focus on what the teacher taught, but he often found his eyes wandering over to Jack, studying him. The only physical difference was his bright green hair. Hence the name 'NeoHuman.' 'Neo' like 'Neon' for the bright colored hair and 'Human' because, their practically human. But it's not the physical difference that scares everyone, it's what the colors mean. Their hair signifies which power or super ability they have, but Mark wasn't quite sure what each color meant. He'd have to ask Jack later. The two governments were trying to get the people to work together, to get along, so they sent a few NeoHumans to human schools and vice versa. Definitely interesting how it's going to turn out.

Jack's eyes flickered over to Mark, and he smirked upon seeing Mark staring at him, quickly returning his eyes to the board, but not before seeing Mark blush out of the corner of his eye. This Mark kid was interesting to say the least. He didn't seem scared of Jack, and Jack wasn't quite sure if that was a good thing or not. The bell rung eventually, sending all the students running out of the class, and whether it was simply to leave to room or get away from the NeoHuman, no one was sure. Mark stayed behind however, taking his time to pack up his things as an excuse to gain his courage to go talk to Jack. He slung his backpack over his shoulder and turned to face the green haired student, only to find him sitting on the edge of his desk, waiting for Mark to finish.

Mark smiled slightly, extending his hand nervously. "Hey, I'm Mark."

The NeoHuman took the offered hand, shaking it politely and replying "Jack."

"So, uh... what's your-"

"Power? Special ability?" Jack guessed.

"Next class." Mark finished.

"Oh, uh... English."

"With who?"

"Uh... Donders." Jack read the name of the schedule he held in his hands.

"That's next to my class." Mark chirped happily. "I have Franklin for English. She's not too bad. I've heard Mr. Donders was a pretty laid back kinda guy, so that's good I guess." Mark continued, leading the way out of the classroom and into the hall. Jack nodded, uneasy about all the stares he was faced with once he stepped out into the crowded walkways. He seemed to relax more once they turned another corner, this hallway completely empty except for the two for them.

"I can tell you my power if you want." Jack said, breaking the silence.

"You don't have to if it makes you uncomfortable." Mark replied, even though he was extremely curious what his green hair meant.

Jack smiled. "I can tell you're curious, but I'm warning you, it's kinda lame."

Mark looked up at the other student. "It's better than anything I can do." He pointed out.
