You run to the window and look up at the dark clouds covering the sky. "It looks like it's gonna rain," you say.

"It always rains here," Jack mumbles from the couch, where he flicks through several channels, none of them appeasing his interest.

You roll your eyes at him. Small drops begin to tap against the window and you grin, running and grabbing a light jacket before throwing it on and bolting outside. Jack looks over the back of the couch at the open door and groans, knowing all-too-well that sooner or later you were going to make him come outside as well. As you dance out in the rain, Jack grabs an umbrella and heads outside, sheltering himself from the downpour. You spin around and spot Jack, who looks very unhappy as he huddles under the umbrella. "Come on Jack!"

"What?" he grumbles.

You hold out a hand to him, still splashing water around as you kick at the quickly forming puddles. "Come dance with me!"

He shakes his head, his face still sporting an unamused expression. "No."

"Oh come on," you jump in another puddle. "It's fun!"

He once again shakes his head, his body starting to quake slightly as he shivers from the cold. You roll your eyes, but continue to dance, twirling and jumping as the rain pelts you. Jack watches silently, mentally willing you to hurry up so he can go back inside.

You eventually stop and stare down at a puddle, smiling at your own rain soaked face. But something doesn't feel right. Something is missing.

Or someone.

You look up at Jack. He's glancing around, his cheeks and nose pink from the chilly air. You smile and quietly approach him. He notices you and looks up, still unamused. You gently place your hand over the one that holds the umbrella and stand on your tiptoes. You then kiss Jack, lowering Jack's arm as you do so. Jack eventually lets the umbrella fall to the ground, placing both of his hands on your waist as you two kiss in the rain. Jack gently pulls away, staring into your eyes as he runs a hand over your cheek, a small smile playing at his lips. You plant your feet on the ground and gently pull Jack into the street with you, where you slowly begin to dance with him. He smiles and pulls you into and embrace, allowing you to lay your head on his chest.

You and Jack continue to slow-dance.

Just you.

Jack.

And the rain.
