Jack awoke to an empty bed. This wasn't uncommon on Saturday mornings, Mark was an early riser and liked to make pancakes for the two of them. Sure enough, the scent of pancakes wafted up the stairs and through the open bedroom door. Jack sighed happily. He was about to roll over and go back to sleep, seeing as he knew Mark would wake him when the food was done, but voices from downstairs prevented him from doing so. He sat up, holding still to hear the quiet conversation from below.
"What are you guys doing here?" Mark whined over the sound of the griddle.
"We were just visiting, Is there something wrong with that?" A darker voice responded, trying to sound more innocent than it actually was.
"But now?" Mark complained again, flipping the pancakes as he did so.
"So what? Are we not allowed to drop in whenever?" A second voice asked.
"Look guys, This week has been very busy for the two of us, and we just wanted to hang out together." Mark huffed, explaining the situation to the pair that bothered him. "And why are you here?" Mark asked, motioning to the third man in the room with the spatula, who had yet to utter a word.
"You make it sound like I'm unwanted." The third grumbled, his voice a bit more robotic compared to the rest.
"Sorry," Mark sighed, apologizing. "It's just you normally don't come."
"And I wouldn't of if these two idiots didn't drag me along." The third said, sounding annoyed. "I'd much rather be at home with Glitch." He muttered that last bit under his breath.
"Hey..." The first threatened, not fond of being called an idiot.
"Let's just say he's our designated driver." The second smirked.
Mark turned off the griddle and unplugged it before turning to the second. "No, you're staying out of my alcohol. We only have it for occasional parties." Mark said sternly.
"Aww, come on, it was that once, Mark."
Jack tuned out the conversation, laying back down and stretching. Dark, Wilford and Google. This was going to be one hectic morning. He sighed, deciding whether or not to move before finally trudging down the stairs.
Jack entered the kitchen, catching the attention of the four who stood there. Dark wore his normal black clothes and, as usual, had a switchblade in his back pocket. It'd be more worrying if he didn't have it than it is when he does. Wilford was wearing the yellow button up shirt outfit and his gun was where he always kept it. He had a comb in hand, and was fixing his hair, only to put it away when he saw Jack. Google was wearing what Google always wears, and quite frankly looked annoyed with his life at this point in time. Jack yawned, stretching his arms above his head again, the bottom of his shirt lifting up a bit. Dark gave a wolf whistle, earning a glare from Mark. Mark had on his flannel, and sweatpants, his red hair messy, glasses crooked and pancakes in hand. He set the pancakes down on the table, opening his arms to receive Jack, who ran and slid on his socks straight into Mark's arms.
"Mornin' Markimoo." Jack mumbled into the older's chest, yawning in the middle, his accent thicker than normal due to him just waking up.
"Morning Muffin." Mark chuckled at the younger's sleepy behavior and appearance. Jack's green hair was messy as well, not much calmer than Mark's although his could be tamed, unlike Mark's unpredictable floof. Jack's shirt was slightly ruffled, the green more dark than his hair and the gray of his sweatpants matching the color of the fridge. His ocean eyes were not yet full of energy, unlike like Mark's chocolate ones, seeing as Mark had a cup of coffee earlier and Jack hasn't.
"Why do you guys have to be so cute?" Wilford asked, a slight hint of jealousy in there though if you asked he would never admit it.
Jack ignored the question, and quite frankly everyone in the room except for Mark, looking up into the older man's eyes. "I didn't know we were gonna have visitors today, let alone this early."
