An arranged marriage?!?" Jack exclaimed, eyes widened and full of fury. "That kind of bull crap only happens in fairy tales."
"Sean, Sean" his father tried to reassured him, but Jack wouldnt have it.
"No. I'm going out. I'll be back later. I just need to clear my head." He stormed out of the room yelling one more thing before the door slammed shut behind him. "And my names Jack!"
Jack wandered around the small village near the castle, dressed in civilian clothes in order to blend in. I didn't take long before someone noticed him, not too many people had bright green hair. A woman at a fruit stand tried to give him all her food and a man at a clothing store tried to give him all this supplies but Jack shook his head with a finger over his mouth. They quickly understood and were quiet, but he bought something from each of them and gave them both a token of appreciation, that way when they told their story they would have proof to back it up.
He then turned off the main path, away from the crowds through a tiny village of 20 or so people that lived nearby. As he walked through the center of their tiny town he spotted a little girl playing out side her home, picking flowers and making a crown out of them. He smiled at her when she spotted him, her mouth hung slightly open in shock. He walked over to where she sat, sitting next to her in the grass.
"Hello, and what your name?" He asked.
The girl answered shyly. "Lucy. I'm seven." She had golden blonde hair that fell down to her waist and sparkling green eyes that looked over him curiously. "This is for you." She squeaked, holding out the flower crown she made. Jack smiled, leaning down and letting her place it upon his head.
"Thank you." Jack replied, lifting his head back up to look at her. She smiled.
"I have a lot more if you want them."
Jack smiled. "Of course. These are beautiful." She leapt to her feet, Jack standing as well, and grabbed his hand, leading him inside.
"Now you stay here." She instructed, stopping in what Jack assumed to be their living room. "I'll be right back." Jack nodded and she scurried off. Seconds later a woman rounded the corner, stopping in her tracks when she saw him there.
"Hello." Jack said politely. The woman about dropped the bowl she was carrying right then and there.
"Hi, your majesty." She said, trying to curtesy.
"No, no, no, no, no, don't bother." He reassured her kindly. "I'm trying to get away from formalities right now." Just then Lucy came back, hands full of flower crowns.
"Hi momma." She said, before turning to Jack. "Here ya go." She placed all the crowns in his hands.
"Thank you very much. Did you make all these just for me?" She nodded. "Well I'm honored." She laughed as he put all of them in his head at once, the mother smiling at his child like behavior. He squatted down again, looking her in the eye. "Well I would like to give you something." He looked at what he had. "But I don't have much on me right now."
"You don't have to give us anything." The mother protested.
"No, no. A gift for a gift. Now let's see." He patted his pockets and felt around for something, anything until he came across a ring on his finger. He grinned, this was the ring his father had told him to use to propose to the girl he was arranged to marry. Sliding it off his finger, he held it out to the girl and she took it from him. "There we go. I don't much need it anyway." His gaze flickered up to the mother as Lucy held the ring in her hands, the woman had tears in her eyes. "Now you go and get something nice with that, you hear?" Jack told the little girl, Lucy nodding in response. He stood up and walked over to the mother, hugging her real tight before heading out the front door.
